Question about Chevrolet Blazer

1 Answer

We have a 1997 chevy blazer that once it sets for a while will not start unless you poor gas down the throttle body. Then it runs fine until next time. Does it have a fuel regulator and where is it located? Does it have a fuel relay and where is it located? You can hear the fuel pump come on when you turn on the switch. Any advice will be appricated. The car belongs to my soon and he is out of work.

96 chevy blazer won't start.

I'm following another issue like this on a 1996 Jimmy.
This engine requires 60psi or more fuel pressure to run.
You need to have someone check the fuel pressure at the rail- throttle body with a gauge.

all right, I reccommend you to clean the throttle body with Carburetor-throttle body cleaner the one in autozone it is really good and not expensive follow instructions on bottle and replace air filter if you haven't good luck!

Will turn over but not start put a new fuel pump in it if you poor gas in to the throttle body it will start for a min until gas runs out

I had the same problem with my old 1987 Chevy blazer s10. The problem was the ground wire of the fuel tank was rusty and it broke. So simple was the problem. But before that, I checked and change the fuses, the fuel filter, the oil pressure switch (this is related to the fuel pump to) and finely when a was ganging the fuel pump saw that the ground wire was broken or damage.

I hope this can help you.

2000 chevy blazer will not start unless we pour some gas into the throttle body. Holds 60 psi turning key on and off and holds between 50psi and 60psi while running. after started it will run fine it just...

You most likely have no power to the injectors when switch is initailly turned on. Sometimes this is caused by a sticking oil pressure switch. Check wiring diagram to see if power source is through this switch.Hope this helps God Bless

Engine wont start without priming with gas first, then runs well

i have the same problem on a 98 jimmy 4.3 4x4.
i replaced the fule pump and have good pressure.
new wiers & coil (good spark) no MIL & no codes.
will only start when primed. it will run & drive all day
with no problems.
but once it has been turned off (warm or cold) i will
have to prime it once again to start it.
i have another engine that was in it before it spun a bearing.
it ran fine so i know all parts are good.
i swaped the mass air flow and throttle body but i still have
to prime it everytime to start it. am i forgetting something?
should i swap out the intake with the injectors?
any help would be sweet. thanks.
