If ur sure there are no leaks then usually the issue is the mastercylinder internal leak, where fluid passes the seal. i also suppose if the vehicle has abs then it could be bypassing the fluid flow. to verify, unplug the abs unit/motor and make sure the problem is there. if the pedal goes to the floor with car shut off its more than likely a base braking problem. hope the ideas help

Your power assist is leaking air or the vacuum to it shot, you will need to check this, first just listen to it for a leak or a hiss, have someone step on the brake while you have your ear under the hood, You should be able to hear a leak. The power assist works with a vacuum line to it but it also depend on the atmospheric pressure for something, They are impossibly to fix, they need to be replaced, you can probably find the same one on a lot of ford products, like T-birds, Crown Vics, Grand Marquis, any big car. Hope this helps.

I have a 1994 Lincoln Mark VIII, will not shift out of park!

Hello Sparky.

There is a solenoid that unlocks the shifter when the brakes are applied.
Check for brake light operation. If no brake lamps, check the brake lamp fuse in the instrument panel fuse box. It is fuse number 11 and is a 10 amp fuse.
If blown you will have a short in the system and it will need to be traced and repaired.
If you need more help with this issue please ask me here.

Clutch goes all the way down to the floor, unable ...

Does the clutch pedal offer any resistance? The clutch and brake system use the same reservoir, there is a hose coming out from the side of the reservoir that goes over to the clutch master cylinder. Sometimes the brake fluid level goes low as brake pads wear and lowers the fluid level too low to work the clutch. On the front side of the transmission, is a clutch slave cylinder, check it for leaks, if it leaks replace it. Hope this helps, let me know.

Brakes work fine until I stop then the pedal goes to the floor. I thought it was the master cylinder but new one does the same. I replaced the check valve but it didn't correct the problem. It doesn't...

Pressure is bleeding...start with the simplest fix: Replace the cap gasket.
They're cheap, and notorious for bleeding pressure before failing altogether.

When you park in the driveway tonight, go in and get a pair of jeans on and a flashlight and take a good look under the car for shiny/wet spots around the wheels.

You could have a bad cup liner in one of the wheels, and if it's cracked (aged) it will bleed a bit under pressure...not enough to make a puddle, but it will drip down the inside of the wheel.
When you move again, the brake fluid is wind-sprayed around the wheel.

Assuming a new cap gasket and dry wheels; Your search for fluid leaks will have to expand, starting with the transition hoses (the rubber sections that are joined to the metal lines) just behind the brake calipers.

What kind of oil for 94 lincoln mark 8

I would 5w-30 non-synthetic, high mileage formula. Full synthetic will leak through old engine gaskets easier and the high mileage formula has the conditioner additive for the older gaskets.
Personally, I use Valvoline Maxlife in my car because it has over 100,000 miles on it. Works great.

Chances are slim that Lucas would solve your problem. Lucas only works in certain very select situations. You need to know where it is leaking from first. They can leak from front seal, rear seal, speedo o ring, and or pan. If it is a minor leak it may work.

The rear brakes on my 1996 Lincoln VIII don't work...the brake pads do not need to be replaced according to the mechanic...he did bleed the lines but the dashboard brake light is on indicating a problem...

The light means you are low on fluid now. If your rear brakes are not working you have a master cylinder or proportioning valve problem. You may also have a leak at the rear.
