SOURCE: AC Compressor clutch

i belive this type of compressor only has one 10 metric bolt in the center, the others should be rivets if they are loose the cluch is gone, but most likelly the only tool you migh need is a snap ring plyers to remove the snap ring that holds the pulley behind the front disc plate, i hope and this help
but if not if i'm wrong then go to autozone or checker and they have this toll kit to replace the clutch and it is call loan tool
the sevice allow you to pay for the tool and take it back for a full refund, in other words loan tool, good luck

SOURCE: grand prix 3800 blowing only hot air please help

i had the exact problem with my 2002 pontiac grand prix. i found a broken vacuum line that comes off the back of the engine. this vacuum line runs down the passenger side top wheel well in the engine compartment. it goes behind the battery mounts then traverses into the big wire harness just below the battery. the vacuum hose was broken there under the battery so i couldn't see it without physically tracing where it went. i took a little piece of rubber hose about the diameter of an aquarium hose and reconnected the hose. i now have cool air. you have to remember that this little vacuum hose keeps the climate control does open as well as close them depending on your hot-cold settings. this all occurs from the climate control knob inside the car. hope this helps. a real easy fix too...........phil

SOURCE: 2003 dodge grand caravan ac recharge

you should be adding the 134a to the system the low pressure switch is doing its job by not allowing the compressor to kick on, it wont kick on until there is enough 134a in the system to be above the preset pressure for the low pressure switch.

SOURCE: Where can I find the PCV valve on a 2002 Dodge

Hello! Reach up and over the intake manifold, PCV is located on the middle of the back valve cover. The plastic part that is screwed into the valve cover is the PCV.

2001 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN 3.3; AC DOES NOT WORK. AC COMPRESSOR REPLACE 3 TIMES, BUT IT BUILDS UP TOO MUCH PRESSURE, RELEASES THRU THE BACK OF COMPRESSOR.

Then there was no reason to replace the compressor
unless it broke down & spread debris into the system
Just poor or no diagnosing of the issue
You have high side pressures that caused the valve to release
Need to study why it happens & where the system blockage is
Did the first compressor burn up & trash the system?
If so then any competant shop know all the componets have
to come out & be flushed or maybe replaced
I would say you have a $1500 job just for starters to redo the
job correctly now 3 compressors went on for no reason

I have a 2007 grand caravan. I used one can of ac coolant this seemed to work for a couple of days, Now there is no cool air coming out and the ac clutch dosent even kick on.Is this a bad compressor? Any...

The ac clutch wont kick on if the refrigerant is low. If you have rear air I wouldn't expect one can to do very much for very long. You may not have lost what you put in but it may not be enough to do anything. Try a large can for SUV's with stop leak, engine running, system turned on high, while charging the system. Make sure you screw the cap back onto the port.

I have a 2002 honda odyssey that the ac is not working. It blows hot air instead of cold.

Hello,

There are 4 main issues to the AC on a car (not including wiring or more advanced troubleshooting)

1 Recharge (Cheap do it your self Recharge kit from auto shop)

2 The belt that it drives it (Least expensive Replace Belt)

3 The clutch on the compressor (Expensive because you have to puge the system R/R the compressor check the evaporator for damge repressurize system and test.

4 The compressor went bad (Most expensive Usually when a compressor fails it will send metal shavings throughout the system that will cause the system to fail again the soulation is the same as 3 but now you need to replace the evaporator and flush all the AC lines out.

AC Compressor is not coming on in our 2006 grand caravan could it be a fuse and if so which one

I'd bet money it's your Rear Evaporator, located behind the back right tire. Mine just went out, which cost $200 to discover, followed by $811 to replace. My co-worker has the same vehicle, and had the same exact problem six months prior. If you google search for "06 grand caravan evaporator" you'll find similar posts. And it's not a recalled item, as of this writing.

AC clutch slipping on 2000 dodge caravan . How can I resolve this

If the a/c clutch is slipping it will need to be replaced. If it is slipping because the compressor is siezed it will need a new compressor, clutch, expansion valve, orings, system flush, perhaps a new condenser or more. However, Dodge has a recall for the compressors failing. Call your local Dodge dealer and ask about that recall. If it applies it should be free.

Air conditioner inop

First suggestion is the clutch not engaging. Check voltage at clutch plug and confirm power source, if there is power there then clutch would work unless it has failed.
