That may not be unusual, the preferred measurement is a vlot meter, because AMPS cause customers concern, unnecessarily. Volts need to be 13.8 to 14.5. Amps going up and down are normal part of system function.

Have a 1994 chevrolet silverado 4x4, just changed water pump, radiator, radiator cap, thermostat & clutch fan. truck is still fluxuating between 210 & 260 degrees. is it air in the system?


did you match mark the fan clutch before you removed it? make sure you fan is coming on correctly. It should come on at a curtain temp then like wise turn off when its cooled down. I hope this helped

I have a 2004 GMC Envoy with 4.2 V-6 and I'm getting OBD codes os P128 and P526. Engine temp gauge is fluxuating between 170 and 210 degrees. Coolant level is fine.


these have an electronic cooling fan that has a high rate of failing. Dealer parts only, parts & labor about $700.00 to replace the cooling fan.

sounds like you have a cluster problem, you checked the cluster fuse in the fuse panel? If fuses are ok it may be a more serious problem right inside the instrument cluster

These cars pull alot of power. My Aunt car done the same thing, and it was the same car. Need to buy a new battrey with alot of Cold cranking AMP's. This should fix the problem.
