Question about 2007 Chevrolet Impala LS Sedan New Cars

1 Answer

I own a 200 Chevrolet Impala LT with 61000 miles on it. So the other day I notice a clear fluid on my garage floor and I thought it was water but when the problem continued I swiped my finger throught and it felt synthetic, as far as I can tell its leaking from the right front side what could be the problem?

1996 chevrolet impala ss oil leak rear of engine

Is it engine oil or transmission fluid? Is it driven often or does it sit in the garage? If engine oil, then possibly the rear seal is leaking into the bellhousing as you drive and then draining on the floor after you stop. If ****** fluid, then possibly front seal on ****** is leaking. If car sits for long periods of time the input shaft seal can allow fluid to leak past the shaft. This usually will fix itself when driven. Can't promise it will fix itself permanently. Will not be an easy fix if either seal needs replacing (or cheap).

03 impala temp fluct then overheats

It sounds like your water pump is shot. The small antifreeze leak is the coolant probably coming from the weep hole on the water pump. If you ran the car while the temperature was up, you may have to watch the head gaskets from now on as they may be shot. Water pumps wear out around 100k to 150k miles usually.

it may not necessary be a blown head gasket but it indicates that it is losing water, it may be a leak somewhere, you wont always see a puddle on the floor, the only way to find the leak is to have it pressure tested by a radiator repairer to see where it is leaking...hope this helps.

When making short trips in the winter, I notice a large amount of fluid (water) on my garage floor, what can be the cause of this....doesn't seem to happen on long trips.

you may just have built up snow or slush that is melting when in your garage or you may have a leaking hose or water pump keep checking the antifreeze level and if there are no changes then its just snow and slush thats melting.

I have a 2006 Chevy Impala LT 3.5 L, and if I drive the car, the fan under the hood remains on, even after the car has been shut off and the key has been taken out. It stays on for about 2 minutes, then...

It's suppose to. The fan will continue to run after the car is shut down to cool the radiator down before a timer shuts off the fan. I also own an '06 Impala LT with 69000 miles, and the coolant has been "disappearing" Since there isn't any excess water coming from the tailpipe, I'm figuring it's the water pump, due to the noises it makes (think marbles in a beer can). Be safe and check you coolant level. Hope this helps you!

Heater core instructions for 04 Chevy Impala SS

Before you go thru that expense. If it is water leaking, check the evaporator. Sometimes it gets plugged with debris. So first, decide if it is water or anti-freeze. Also, I have taken the heater hoses off of the inside of the motor area and flushed the core out. It works on some.
