Well you didn't say what year or model your car or truck is so the regulater is on the fuel rail that the injectors are connected to and theirs a vacume lineconnected to it. The older carborater cars didn't have regulaters until they whent to fuel unjection in 89.

SOURCE: Where is the fuel pressure regulator located at in a 94 bravada

My friend, I suggest you go by your local Auto Parts Store and purchase a Haynes Repair Manual on this vehicle. There are many sensors and electronic controls involved with this engine as I'm sure you already know. Any one of these can memic something that "it is not".
If your problem is the Pressure Regulator, it is located inside the "Tunnel Ram" intake manifold along with the multiport fuel injection system.
Now,,, before I went through the trouble and expense of going into the Intake Manifold, I would run the EMC in Diagnostic Mode and see if there are any codes present.

SOURCE: fuel pressure regulator had no vacuum line connected

another engineers wet dream. think of it this way . what is normally in the intake when the engine is running.. answer vacume, hence the regulator gets its vacume without a hose connected to it as its already in a full time vacume chamber.no hose required . ps be carefull to seat the regulator and o rings securely into the housing befor you reattach the secureing metal clip.
good luck chris

Need schematic for fuel system 1989 fleetwood bounder

Schematic?
WELL, if it is a gasoline engine (you did not specify), there isn't much to the "fuel system..." only a single line with one or two pumps routing fuel to the fuel pressure regulator, and a single fuel line from the fuel pressure regulator routing bypass fuel back to the tank. Oh... and the fuel rail and injectors, which are all connected to the fuel pressure regulator.
If it is a diesel engine, it is even simpler!
Why would you need a diagram??

Looking for fuel system diagram

Chances are its what is called the fuel pressure regulator is the problem.
These other systems have vents and valves and are disgined them selves .
The pressure regulator deals with the fuel injecters mainly back pressure feed back to the tank .
The vehicle will run OK but when you shut it off you smell gas vapor it has to get out .

Where is the fuel pressure regulator located in the 1993 chevrolet caprice engine

The fuel pressure regulator is located on the fuel rail which is generally attached to the intake manifold. I have attached a typical diagram for you to take a look at.

Won't run. Replaced Fuel Pressure Regulator; Engine Computer Module (QDM40; sprayed carb cleanet into EGR; replaced Ignition Control Module. Car runs on Quick Start Fluid only.

If it runs on start fluid and nothing else its obviously a fuel concern fuel pump ,fuel pump relay ,check fuel pressure at the regulator that you replaced.

Vacuum lines

Hello, I have the 1993 Ford Festiva shop manual in front of me. The vacuum hose on the Fuel Pressure Regulator goes to the intake manifold. The manual says that the fuel pressure is maintained at a constant 36.3 psi, and when the engine vacuum drops (caused by high fuel demand) it causes the fuel pressure to increase inside the regulator. There should be a vacuum diagram on the bottom side of the hood that will help to show you what vacuum port on the manifold that it attaches to. If the decal is gone, look on the intake manifold for a vacuum port that is open and causing a vacuum leak. I hope this helps.

Fuel Pressure Regulator

All Fuel Pressure Regulators are usually attached to the Fuel Rail. In any case, they have a return line to the fuel tank. On your engine you may have to remove the pretty "Plastic Cover" that covers the top of the engine to see the fuel rail and the pressure regulator. Look for a "tube" that has fuel injectors going from the bottom of it and into the top of the intake manifold. The fuel pressure regulator is a round looking device attached to the end of the fuel rail with a small fuel line coming out the botttom and a vacuum line attached to the top of it. At least in most cases this is what it will look like.
