2000 gran marquis door closes but rattles like it is not fully closed. Is there an adjusment?

There's a catch that's bolted onto the door frame of the car. Loosen up the bolts and adjust the catch, re tighten the bolts and check. This may take a couple of try's before you find the best position to eliminate any slop so the door secures without any rattles. Check the latch on the door for wear, this may also contribute to the door rattling if you're unsuccessful after making an adjustment on the catch.

How do you adjust the tail gate to stop the annoying rattle when driving?

Most rattles are due to the back door not closing tight enough. There is a lock/striker that the door lock assembly latches to. Usually the striker/latch is bolted to the rear floor/bumper area and the screws/bolts securing it can be loosened and the striker/latch moved forward and retightened which in turn will cause the door to be tighter stopping any rattles. You may also have a rattle inside the door assembly itself or loose paneling causing this issue

Rattling rear lift gate when driving

You should check the rubber bumpers the door pushes on when it is closed. These might need a small adjustment. They twist in and out. They should be touching the door when closed but not so much that it pushes up. You might also check The lock latch on the floor to see if it is loose. Last and usually overlooked is the license plate. Makes sure it is not loose and rattling.

Dorr ajar always on what should i going to do to fix it before any major problem will happen

This is a lite on, when the door jam switch in not in far enough to cut the ground circuit. If you have slack in the door with it closed .You may have to adjust the door latch on the door pillor post! You may check to see if you can rattle the door while it is closed if so, it needs the adjustment corrected.Otherwise it may be the door jam switch itself,at fault.

You will have to loosen the striker and slide back, move back in small amounts until door is tight. also make sure its not something inside the door rattling before adjusting the striker.

How do you adjust a trunk latch on a 03 Ford Focus Sedan?. The lock mechanism does not engage all the way in the lock. The catch has 3 bolts which can be moved for adjustment.

loosen all 3 bolts, then do them up so that they are pinch tight then push door to close as hard as you can, open door and tighten bolts, close door again to ensure no rattles/leaks and that door locks.keep adjusting till you get it right...

there should be adjustment posts on the hood, you could raise those or lower the latching mechanism.

Front driver door rattles and the door open light comes on

You will have to adjust the door lock catch which is fitted on the body , loosen the two screws and push it a little inwards , close the door after adjsuting and see if it rattles , if so repeat the adjustment.
Please also check the door hinghes of they are ok! Probabely it may have some play if so thn you will have to replace them.
Hope this helps!
