is there a vaccum hose on the tranny or is there a missing hose where there should be one?
Honestly, I am almost positive it is your torque converter clutch circuit. This is the shifting mechanism for automatic trannys

First, carefully disconnect the cable end from the shift arm on the transmission (pry gently with a screw driver between the arm and the cable), then take out the staple looking thing from the cable. Then squeeze the tabs on the side of the cable and slide it towards the rear of the vehicle. Take out the two bolts that hold the bracket on.

this should be done by a pro..the 700r4 is very touchy and the detent cable is your main pressure control..would advise you take to dealer for proper adjustment
