Question about Honda Pilot

1 Answer

The rear window dropped into the door of my 04 Honda Pilot. I have everything off so I can pull the window up and secure it until I can afford to get it fixed. Problem is, it will only go up half way, then I see a part on the window (white, with some wires) that gets stuck at the door frame. I don't want to force it. Help!

Buy the broken window regulator now, and replace it.
You don't want to go inside another door, for the next ten years.

Get what fixed? Your 80% home, change the regulator yourself

As I mentioned, I can't afford to buy the part or have someone else do it. I just need to secure the window in the "up" position until I get funds to fix it permanently.

Drivers side power window motor

Your best shot at an easy fix is to find the broken fourth wire for that rear door, and be able to splice it back together in the door opening, without having to pull the door panel off to get to that or to everything else that could be accessed. Yes, the motor could be jumped from a battery set nearby, but to do so, the door panel has to be removed.
I think there should be four wires to that door. I can think of no logical reason to have four on one rear door and three on the other. Pull all the protective covers away from the wires to look at them closely for a broken wire or broken end of a wire. Good luck. If it rains, you may have to use the plastic sheet over door trick.

I have an 04 Honda Pilot the door locks do not work i haev to open each door manually.. Anyone have any suggestions on how i can fix it? Any ideas on what the problem could be?

Check your fuses first. That's the cheapest thing to fix. You'll need the manual to tell which is which, unless you pull them all to check. If it's not that, then it's probably a wiring issue.

Need to remove inner rear passenger side door

On the inside trim, you can remove screws (these screws may be covered by filler pieces or may be visible, or they may require you pry a plastic piece off that covers the screws) that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you'll need to manipulate the panel and disconnect the door handle linkage from the door handle and disconnect the wiring for your controls. Then you need to pull back the weather seal and then you can access the bolts securing the outer handle

Door panel removal

You'll need to remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. If needed, you can pull back the weather seal (can't reuse it, but it's not that important) and you will be able to access everything inside the door
