This problem is caused by a failed fuel level sensor inside the fuel tank, the fuel tank must be removed to access the part.

FUEL GAUGE READS FULL WHEN EMPTY AND EMPTY WHEN FULL

Did this get replaced recently?
Fuel level senders typically work by changing the resistance (and therefore current) depending on the fuel level determined by the position of the float mechanism in the tank. Since the guage you are describing is working exactly opposit to as intended, is it possible that an incorrect sender was installed, or, if there are 2 terminals on the guage, have the wires been switched so that the current is going through the wrong way?

I JUST REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP ON MY 04 YUKON AND NOW THE GAUGE IS READING EMPTY EVEN THOUGH THE TANK IS FULL CAN SOME ONE HELP OUT

you may want to check the wires that plug in to the sending unit on the fuel pump, one or more might be disconnected or wired incorrectly. Hope this helps.

My gas guage is not holding actual fuel level, its a 2002 GMC Yukon. Goes from empty to full within seconds and the tank is full.

Typical gm problem, the float assembly or a ground wire, Ive always run across it being the float which can be bought through the dealer seperately than the whole pump w float assembly.

Low fuel light On

The problem is with the fuel level sensor, it's attached with the fuel pump and located inside the fuel tank, sometimes the water and other impurities inside the fuel causes this problem, solution is to get the fuel pump opened by a professional and the problem might be solved by some simple cleanup. Hope it helps and comment if you need more advice. Please don't forget to rate the answer, it helps me, thanks!

2004 gmc Denali fuel indicator

There was not an official recall from GM but I yelled and scream until I had GM service center replace mine in 2008 on my 2004 Yukon XL. In 2007 a class action settlement qualified certain owners for a special coverage adjustment for allegedly defective speedometers. See http://www.gmspeedometerrecall.com/
for the details. I suggest you bug GM corporate offices if the dealer tells you no. The cap on this was 70,000 miles. Just google this problem you will see how wide spread this is. I took me more than six trips in the dealership but it was finally replaced for free. Good luck.

Gas gauge flucuates to empty and full so we never know if we have enough gas. What to do?

It is a common problem. It is a faulty in tank sender. You can just replace the sending unit by removing tank.
