Re: My headlights on my 94 dakota work fine for a while...
I just had this problem. There was a screw loose on the hi-beam switch. You have to take off the plastic cover on the steering column to get to it. Really simple to fix yourself (5 minutes tops). 4 screws and the turn of a small wrench. Free if you do it yourself, $600 if you take it to the dealer.
Thanks for commenting on this problem. It took me a lot of time and looking at a lot of wiring, but I fixed this problem about a year ago I guess. It was the ground wires under the hood on the driver's side fender well. There was a splice where like 4 ground wires spliced to one that led towards the battery. At the splice those wires had corroded and gotten wet I am sure. GFS I heard was the technical term used for the "Green Fuzzy Stuff" that I saw on the copper wires. All I ended up doing was cutting back an inch on each wire where the corrosion was not present in protected wire. Cut the coating off there and re-spliced the wires there. I also electrical taped the heck out of the new splice area also. Hope this helps someone else!!! So far it has solved my problem.
