Question about 1999 Ford F350 Regular Cab
Hi. I just bought a 1999 F350 and the door ajar light stays on and the dome light kicks on when I hit the brakes. I can hear a clicking sound when I brake and the light comes on. After a minute or two the light clicks and goes off, but the door ajar light stays on. Thanks for the help!
I know the problem. Mine does it too. The fix is easy. Open & close doors to find which one is causing the problem. Open that door panel and find the release latch at back of door. There are 2 wire harnesses attached to the latch. Unhook the wires and spray sockets of latch. There is a ballbearing that gets stuck in switch. Lubricate that ballbearing and work latch manually several times. This problem will reoccur occasionally especially when there has been a lot of rain. Good Luck

Same here, mine does it too. I have replaced the switches in both doors (226,000 miles) They arent easy to change but after a couple times they get easier. The cost is low and its worth it as they last about 1 1/2 - 2 years
