Question about 2001 Ford Expedition

1 Answer

Overhead console not working on 2001 Expedition. Checked the fuses they all look okay. Recently changed the battery, could a reset be required? Everything else seems to work fine. Could it just be a bulb?

This is a very common problem with many of the mid 2000 Ford truck and SUV overhead consoles. The console is very prone to internal failure. I offer a reasonable repair service with a lifetime guarantee, check it out: www.autoclockrepair.com
There is a bunch of useful info there. Drop me an email if you have questions, thanks!

My overhead compass and temperature is not on, also my a/c unit front and back are blowing but not getting cold.

If the lights in the overhead console work then it is not a fuse, it is a bad console. These units are poorly designed and fail frequently. We offer a repair service with a lifetime guarantee. Check out www.autoclockrepair.com. Drop us a note if you have any questions, thanks!

Outside temperature display don't work

If the dome lights work and the console display is dead then it is not a fuse issue as power is directed to the entire assembly.

The electric compass and temp. display isnt working in my 2001 ford sport trac. Also, the power side mirrors and the keyless entry? Is this a fuse problem and if so does any one know the fuse #, my owners...

I believe that the mirrors and entry issues are not related to the overhead console. Compass/temp failure is a very common problem with many of the mid 2000 Ford truck and SUV overhead consoles. The console is very prone to internal failure. If the dome lights work but the compass unit does not then it is a faulty computer unit. Used pcm/ecm for a 2001 Ford Expedition

If you replace an ecm then you now have a security violation in the vehicle which can only be corrected by the dealer.
