Question about 1985 Dodge Lancer

I'm trying to drop the transmission out of 1985 Dodge Lancer 2.2 L 4 Cyl. Turbo to install a new clutch kit. There is a lot of connections going into the bell housing and tranny which ones do disconnect? Basically how and what do I need to do to drop it and have enough clearence to put the kit in using a jack (for the engine block) and jack stands to hold the car off the ground?

My favourite job ,i love clutches like i love ,well think of something ??,anyway you will need to disconnect the clutch ,gear change mechanism ,front suspension off and drive shafts out ,reverse light connection ,now some front wheel drive vehicles you have to lower the subframe as well .iam asuming its front wheel drive as i have never seen one ,now another trick i do to save time is to just open the bell housing about 3 inches then undo one bolt on the clutch at a time and turn flywheel with a big screwdriver ,then work out where the clutch bolts are in relation to the bell housing then drill a hole that i can get my 10mm socket through and in line with the clutch bolts ,then place new clutch in position and finger tighten bolts ,then refit bellhousing with a wiggle and as the clutch is loose it can move and align up .then when i have the bellhousing in place and bolts in and tight ,i can then tighten clutch bolts one at a time by turning ringear with a screwdriver but go round twice and their you are one clutch change ,shouldnt take including teabreak more than 3 hours .

You should have the computer scanned at a transmission shop or a dealership. If you get a code P1811, that is the 'max adapt long shift' code. That means that the Electronic Pressure Control solenoid may be going bad. Normal wear and tear on the clutch material can also cause this code. Basically, it means that the transaxle is taking longer than 0.65 seconds to shift, and the computer commands maximum line pressure to avoid burning out the clutches. I have had good success with installing a shift kit on several of these transaxles (4T65e) to remedy this problem with no further issues. Visit www.transgo.com and look for distributors in your area. The shift kit you need is the SK 4T65e shift kit. The kit comes with very good instructions. It is not a difficult job. If you can drop the pan and change your own fluid, you can install this kit.

How to change a clutch in a 2006 mitsubishi lancer ralliart


in a nutshell : first you will need an underhood engine holder to hold up the back of the engine , then pull the wheels remove spindles from struts remove axles from hubs then remove from transmission ,install engine holder remove battery cables from battery, remove trans mount bolts,clutch slave cyl, shifter linkage etc, bell housing bolts pull trans backward and remove from car.

It sounds like the pilot bearing that is pressed into the crankshafts end was not installed properly or not replaced.

I have an 03 turbo s 6 speed ... what size clutch does it take, and how hard is it to replace?


if it is a 6 speed you need a 240mm clutch for an 02m transmission. you can find a kit at ecstuning.com or an autoparts store/dealer. In order to replace the transmission must be dropped which is difficult without an auto lift and the proper tools. Probably a 7 hour job

Need to bleed clutch to get peddle


try to vacuum bleed the system at the master most hand vacuum kit come with adapters to fit over the master reservoir otherwise the system may need a new master or you may have a leak

that cable fited one side to cluch pedel and ather side fited gear box side where palte which is relecing clutch bearing. dont forget to adjust.
