There are two small threaded holes on the face of the drum insert two metric bolts thread them in slowly and evenly and the drum will come out off the hub

Break peddle squeak when I release my foot on my hyundai coupe 1.6 2001

moe than likely the rear brakeshave worn...in order to remedy, issue may be 1 of 2 possiblities... easiest is to adjust the rear brakes, however, that is only the rear "drum" brake application and not in rear "disc" brake. Most Accents I've worked on had the "drum" brake application. Typically no more than $40. to do something like that.

If the adjustment is not taking care of the squeal, then rear brake replacement is in order. Either shoes (for drums) or pads (for disc)

How do I adjust the rear drum brakes on a 2001 Hyundai Accent?

To get a "ball-Park" adjustment, just turn the adjustment mechanism (with drum removed) 'till you can just put the drum back on and it turns without binding. Your self-adjusters will finish the job for you as you drive. Worst thing you can do is set initial adjustment too tight as that will burn the shoes before they get a chance to properly break in. Doing it how I said, will avoid that.

Does the 2007 hyundai accent GS hatchback have a "zero clearance" engine? if the timing belt breaks, will is cause severe damage to the engine?

No it will wipe out the valves.. usually all of the exhaust valves. Here is the interval for changing the timing belt on your Hyundai..
"Normal service replace every 60,000 miles or 48 months. Severe service replace every 40,000 miles or 48 months."

When should I change my timing belt on my 2007 hyundai accent gs hatchback? it has 63000 miles on it.

you wont need to change it until at least 100,000 miles. Typically that will last the life of the car. But alot of people, including myself, wait until it breaks to replace it. It is about $1000 to replace because the engine has to be partially disassembled.

Hi, can anyone give me instructions on replacing tailgate glass on a 2007 hyundai accent 3 door hatch?

The glass is installed using a strong verithane adhesive and is best left to a professional to prevent breaking the glass and leaking after installation.

I cant figure out how to remove the rear break drums

there is a pozidrive no 3 screw in front of drum, you may have to hit the end of you screwdiver to free it.then once removed hit the drum on the sides with a mallet to free of the rust behind the drum,it should then just pull off.

I want to remove right rear wheel to check brake shoes. big central nut hard to remove.

You do not need to remove that nut to check your breaks. That nut removes the whole hub assembly. Don't mess with it.

Now you have what are called drum brakes on the rear of your car. The front has disk breaks. Take some wd-40 and spary on the lug bolts and the center hub. Let it soak for a bit and then take a hammer and tap around on the drum to free it up. your break pads are on the inside of that drum.
