Question about 1998 Toyota Camry

1 Answer

I have a 98 Camry LE, 2.2L, Automatic and need to replace the kickdown cable. Outside of a dealer, where else is this available and a part number would be helpful.

I would try a foreign auto parts store or a web based auto parts provider. Please know that this cable may not be available as an after market part and you might be forced to buy it from the dealer.

Cable on top of engine broke on throttle what does it do

Replace the cable with one from your local auto parts store or dealer.
It may be for cruise control if your cruise control no longer works.
Or, it may be for the accelerator pedal.

Adjust kickdown cable

If it is an overdrive, there isn't a kickdown cable. I would suspect something wrong with the engines output.

2004 Camry ignition gets stuck on "on"

To be quite frank, a little further diagnosis on the part of the dealer will rectify this condition, but,
try this:
When the key will not come out, try pushing the shifter forwards towards the park position. If the key comes out then, it just may be an adjustment at the shifter cable.

CAR STALLED OUT, 98 CAMRY FWD LE 4C

Could be either. And make sure you don't have 2 filters also.
Find the fuel filter and disconnect the fuel line coming FROM the gas tank.
Be extremely carefull and use a gas can (or jar) or equivilant, put the fuel line in the gas can and have an assistant start the car. Normally if you just turn the car to the 'on' position the fuel pump will pressurize the line anyway. Becarefull you don't have the hose pointed at you or get gas splashed in your eyes (use safety glasses), If the pump is working gas will come out under alot of pressure (again becarefull). If nothing happens then it's the pump. Also check fuses (inside and outside under the hood).
