Be sure to run the lowest octane that your car allows, FORD has had slow to start complaints that were traced to this issue.

Check your timing chain for looseness and chech secondary ignition for corrosion.

Thank You for your input. Please allow me to expand upon my problem:
When I turn the key on, I can hear the pump in the tank engaging, followed be the secondary/relay pump in the engine compartment. I must go through this procedure 5 or 6 times before it will start.
Occasionally I must pump the peddle in order that it might start. When it does start - sometimes it will act as though it is flooded - then I will slightly depress the gas peddle and wait for it to clear - then it runs as though it didn't have a problem in the World - Until I have to start it again.
I went to an ÄutoParts"store and they checked the engine lite, and told me that it was the "FUEL TEMP SENSOR" If this is the cause, then where is it located - is there a schematic available for this 4.0 ltr.-and what is the degree of difficulty???

I have a 1995 ford aerostar that park doesn't work. It says im in park on the cluster but the vehical will still roll if i dint block the tires.

Inside your transmission is a Park Band. It works like a break to hold your vehical from rolling. Most of the time this will break if you park on alot of hill and when it rolls either forward or backwards. You will have to take it to the shop to be repaired or if you know how to replace it your self. The transmission will have to come out in order to replace the band.

The codes should be cleared with a scanner. However, on a 1995 Aerostar, we are talking about an old EEC-IV system. You cannot clear codes on that vehicle with a generic OBD code reader because it is not OBD compatible. You need to get access to a Ford "Star Tester" or an aftermarket scanner that can emulate a star tester.

Codes can also be cleared on that system by disconnecting the negative battery cable, but this is NOT the recommended procedure because disconnecting and reconnecting the battery cable can cause voltage spikes that can damage sensitive computer equipment in your vehicle. If you decide to do it this way, make sure that you leave the battery disconnected for a minimum of 15 minutes before reconnecting the cable.

I took my 1995 Ford Aerostar to have the flexpipe, muffler, and tailpipe replaced. I shopped around, and Budget Muffler in Kent Ohio stated that they would repair the care for $160+tax. When I picked...

You are right. The engine flexes differently, but not less. The designers that put the engine sideways also put the flex pipe in the design, and the shop is just saving money. I'm a mechanical engineer, and I can tell you the stresses on the joints will be higher without the flex pipe. I can't say for sure something will crack, but it is certainly more likely.
