I drove my car a half mile away from my house and the engine shut off and my check gages light came on my heads-up display. We talked to a few mechanics and they said there was not enough fuel pressure so...

While the key is in the last position before the start or during starting, check if you are getting fuel to the fuel line to the engine. If there is none then the fuel pump fuse or relay may have gone bad or the fuel pump itself.

My 1997 grand am runs rough, theres oil around the 1 spark plug, if it sits and runs for a 10-15 min it will start to get hot. also the gas gauge will say 1/2 tank then after a mile or 2 it will say 1/4 ...

Those are troubled cars and older ones are even more troubled with problems I would sell it and get anything but a pontiac and a dodge stay away warning! warning! You got high miles on that ? Its a money drain.

Big snow storm .pulled in driveway and turned ignition off. ignition will not turn. it is frozen

Try this- check to see if your wheels are straight. If the wheels are turned either direction it puts pressure on the mechanism that allows the key to turn. With the key in the ignition, sit in the drivers seat and try to turn the steering wheel to the right (it will only move slightly) while you hold the steering wheel try to turn the key. Then try the opposite direction.

2001 Grand Prix with fuel pump problem.

i would be inclined to try the crank sensor first ,renew it ,but this is one of them jobs where a fellow mechanic is no doubt getting a earfull from a female ,i pity him but this sort of problem can be very testing to say the least as it always starts when hes around ,i know the feeling well of this sort of fault and the associated problems involved where if you get it right first time your a god and if you get it wrong ,well you can imagine. If only it would do it when hes driving it ,so what i do is to give the customer my escort diesel and i use their for a few days .

My grand prix been sitting alone for five years in the driveway, I've decided to try to get it running, I changed the oil and flushed the radiator out, it will crank but it wont start...any Ideas??

What about the fuel system, to start with, the tank may be full of gunk, rust etc, and now traveling down the fuel lines. Unless that vehicle has had fresh fuel and run once in a while, that will need a thorough cleaning/flushing before I'd even try to start it up.

2004 grand am headlights come on while sitting in

The only thing that I can see and should make sense is the body control module controls the ground side of the headlight relay.

Maybe the control module is defective or the wire to the relay ground side.... grounds itself somehow which would also cause the flickering.

My 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP has an oil leak located on the firewall side of the engine. It's a small leak (2-3 drops a day) but very messy on my concrete driveway. How can I fix it?

Try some motor honey. It can be bought at most part stores, advanced auto, autozone, ect. It worked for my 95 Grand Am when I had a leak in my oil pan gasket. Hope this helps
