    What motor?

  • Anonymous Sep 30, 2010

6 cyl. The radiator and thermostat were replaced about 4 months ago, and he told me at the time the temperature (coolant) sensor was going to go soon, but he didn't have any, said it was an easy fix myself, but, of course I didn't have him show me where it was.

It is located in the lower intake manifold on the drivers side near the thermostat housing. Follow the upper hose to the thermostat housing (metal pipe). Follow the housing down to the intake manifold. You should see the sensor mounted in that area. It will have a three wire connector.

Speedometer wont move and the miles on the car wont show i changed the fuse still same problem (1998 Buick Century)

This could be the speed sensor in the transmission. I believe it is electric on the 98 takes about 15min to change and is located on the long end of the trans.

1998 Buick Century 3.1 engine

camshaft position sensor it is located on the engine block on the belt side of the motor there is also a crank position sensor that is located on that same side, that is behind the main belt pulley. basically the computer is sensing that these two sensors are out of sync with each other this is a common problem, and is corrected by replacing the camshaft position sensor in most cases. Otherwise check the connections and wiring to the sensor please rate -jeff
