Year, make, and model?

This is a typical symptom of a bad turn signal/multi function switch. Usually you can wiggle the lever and/or push/wiggle the hazard switch (if mounted on the steering column) and get it to work intermittently.

If it you can get it to work by using the methods above and would like further info on replacing the switch I would be more than happy to help you further.

Brake lights aren't working changed fuses and bulbs could it be the turn signal light switch?

the turn signal light switch has nothing to do with the brake lights, the problem is most likely the brake light switch which you should find around the area of the brake pedal it may be faulty or has come loose & needs to be adjusted & tightened back up........hope this helps......cheers.

I have a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee and the brake lights are not engaging. I have changed out the brake stop switch, the center brake light bulb was melted and I changed that bulb out and it works when I...

Remove the bulb & use a volt meter to check for power. Harbor Freight has a digital volt meter on sale for right now for $ 3.00. Carefully touch the red probe to the connection in the bottom of the socket & the other to a good ground on the body. Have someone step on the brake, if you have power the problem is the socket ground, the metal connector on the side of the inside of the socket. With a pair of needle nose pliers you should be able to remove the connector to clean it & inspect it for corrosion. If it can't be cleaned to get a proper connection you may check a wrecking yard for a replacement. They can also be purchased at a dealer's parts house.

Ny brake lights work and my tail lights work .When I have the key on and the tail lights on and hit the brake pedal my passenger side lights go out ,but drivers side works

It sounds like the system is working . The problem with the pasanger side light is most likely a problem with the bulb connection or a slight ground connection to the ligh . Try cleaning the terminals to the bulb and put some dielectric grease on the contacts you might as well do them all . And also make sure the lights have a good ground connection to the body there is a ground wire for all of the lights . A bad ground or a bad bulb in the front even if the light appaers to work still has two filamants turn and running and could cause a problem in the rear lighting . Head lights will have nothing to do with this problem its the brake and siginal or running lights check it out good luck

Brake-light / side-light electrical problem

follow the light my son..stay away from the switches and relays...your solution lies in the powers/grounds at the chassis /bulb areas...the grounded power to the front bulb is causing brakes to go on..(they are ground actuated )....so you are closer than ever to solving this ..go back to each location making sure that they are clean , grounding to chassis and getting power... the gremlin will go away when ALL are power/ground happy
