Question about 2002 GMC Sierra

1 Answer

My power window on the drivers side of my 2002 gmc sierra 2500 will not roll up. The problem is not the fuse. When you press the switch you can hear the motor trying to kick on, its not a whine, just a very soft sounding click from down near the motor eveytime you press the switch. I would think that would tell me its not the switch either. Im thinking its the regulator or motor, any suggestions?

It is 8 years old and it is the most used window. it needs a new regulator, buy one at a parts store or on ebay and pay a glass shop to put it in for you.

2012 gmc Sierra driver side power windows don't work

If you're sure of the fuse location and there isn't one replace the fuse. (The panel cover should tell you the amperage). If it still doesn't work, pay close attention to the headlights as you press the window switch, they should dim perceptibly, this means the switch is working. If you get to that point it's time to remove the door panel and check the motor itself..... Good luck.

My windows are not rolling down in my 2003 GMC Yukon denali?

It might be the drivers window switch. All power goes through there before the other window switches. But first check your fuses. Look in your owners manual to find location.

I can roll the window down with the passenger side switch but to roll it up i have to use the master on the drivers side. it a 2002 dodge ram 2500

I am assuming that the switch from the drivers side will roll the window down and up for all windows, so this is going to be a worn out or defective window switch in the passenger door. These are quite easy to change, and can get the part from the dealer for usually at or around $50.

The armrest cover will pop up where the switch is with a little effort, flip the cover over and remove the plug to the switch. The switch has usually 4 tabs that will need to be pried gently back and the switch housing will release. Install the new switch housing, attach wire plugs, and it's plug and play! This will correct the problem.

Window and lock switches use a small plastic piece that presses down on metal tabs. These plastic parts wear out, or I have even seen them get hot and melt if pressed and held down by kids playing with the window buttons.

Hope this helps, let me know.

Possible window fuse blown?

if the fuse is blown none of the windows will work,it sound wierd but all the power to the window motors runs through the drivers side switch. the drivers side switch may be your culprit.to be sure check to see if you have power goin in to the other switches before you replace the drivers side switch.

Check internal wiring harness inside the actual door, test the wire leads to each actuator and make sure they are getting power, I'd be willing to bet they aren't, for whatever reason
