Car loosing power

If the battery is loosing power as you drive it,then the alternator has gone bad, this is what charges the battery, and the engine will also not run correctly if it is not charging.

Lost all electrical power while driving?

Sounds like a poor connection from either the positive or ground from the battery. Check connections at the battery, follow the cables to see if any other connections are loose.

I have a 2000 Ford Windstar. While driving the other day I lost all electrical power. Nothing would work and engine cut off. After sitting for a brief time the van cranked back up and I drove it home. ...

Most probably...a loose electrical connection. Since you mentioned that the electrical power and the engine got cut off and after sitting for a brief of time, the van cranked back up. You need to check the wiring to see if there's any loose connection.

Here, I provided you the link where you can download the wiring diagram for your 2000 Ford Windstar:

This diagram (manual) will help you trace the problem.

Have a great day!
