The ABS system is disabled - you need to have someone pull the trouble code(s) to find a starting point.

Ani brake light comes on somtimes

"ani brake light"??? Do you mean Antilock Brake light? If the antilock brake warning lamp is illuminating while driving under normal driving conditions, then you probably have a malfunction in your antilock brake system. You must scan your antilock brake control module to find out why it has been illuminating the light. Wheel speed sensor malfunctions are a common cause of the symptoms you are describing, but you cannot be sure if that is what is causing it, or which one is causing the problem without scanning the controller and performing proper diagnosis.

I have a 96 loncoln town car and when I step on the barke peddle it makes a wierd noice and then it turns my abs light on. It doesn't do it all the time. It sounds like a grrrrrrrrrrr noice when I step on...

Hello. That sound is just your antilock brakes being applied. You should also feel the brakes pulsing a wee bit. The fact that the abs light is on is usually due to an ABS sensor going bad, a common issue with these cars as they age; but, not to worry as even if the ABS system didnt work at all you would still have brakes, you would just have to pump the brakes with your foot on slippery roads. I have a BMW 1999 wagon with 64,000 mi . It runs great and I feel no apparent break problems. But... the ABS break light comes on with the triangle (caution) with the circle arrow with the exclamation...

The ABS brake light will go on whenever it doesn't see a signal coming from the wheel speed sensor on any of the 4 wheels.

May need to have it scanned for ABS Brake codes to determine which wheel is affected.

Antilock break light stays on

you have a defective doom light switch, when u brake the body of the car flexes and that is just enough to turn on the switch, have the dealer scan the car to isolate the bad switch.
