Question about 2007 Mitsubishi Raider LS

1 Answer

My window washer switch seems to be broken. I recently filled it with washer fluid, but it wouldn't spray or wipe the winshield. Tonight, for an experiment, I hit it with the palm of my hand and it worked, but just for that one time.

The washer pump is inside the bottom of the reservoir. If it worked on being smacked, I assume someone was inside holding the button, then I would take a shot at pulling the pump's electrical connector plug off and giving the male and female parts of the connector a good dousing with WD40 or any other moisture replacing anti-corrosive solvent. You could simply have a bad connection.

2011 Toyota Camry winshield washer fluid light on dashboard won't turn off after filling tank.

The sensor inside the tank is defective or covered in goo. Remove the sensor from the tank or remove the tank and flush it clean with hot water and a mild solution of white vinegar, if the sensor still reads the tank is low replace it.

PULL THE HOSE LOSE FROM THE PUMP. IF ITS PUMPING THEN THE LINES ARE STOPPED UP. IF NOT PUMPING THEN YOU NEED A PUMP

My wiper fluid wont come out

Check and verify that you indeed have the winshield washer tank filled if the tank is filled make sure the winshield washer hoses are attached to the washer nozzles under the hood if all of this checks out you probably have a bad windshield washer pump...

Our 1997 SL@ wipers are coming on without them being turned on and sometimes the washer sprays and sometimes it doesn't even though the washer fluid is full. The fuse seems ok. Any ideas

wiper switch? play with it and see if you can get it to act up. if they are off, just jiggle the switch without actually turning them on, if they start wiping, replace the switch. If a fuse was blown, they would never work.

The winshield washer fluid won't work, but it sounds like I can hear the little motor when I push the end of the wiper blade switch

Push the washer fluid button and hold it for 20 sec then look under the truck and seeif you see the washer fluid dripping on to the ground, if theres no sign of the washer fluid then you have a bad washer pump, which is located on the side of the washer bottle, if theres fluid dripping then you will need to follow the line, start at the washer nozzles, this is where it breaks the most, if the line is plastic you can use a peice of rubber hose that size and connect the broken line back together with the hose, hope this helps.

Just filled the washer container but it won't come out when I turn on the wipers

Possible problems are...fuse, fluid line broken, bad pump motor pluged line or bad switch.

Check fuses first then test motor by listening to sound with ignition on and car not running, you should hear the motor run when you try to spray the window or have some one listen while you spray, If motor works then look for broken window solvent lines or pluged lines then check the switch and relay.

Washer spray on back windshield

i've actually had this issue with one of my cars. there are tiny spray nossles, that can pivot, from which the water shoots out of to hit the windshield. you need to find something slim and sharp like a bobby pin and place the tip into the exit hole where the water shoots out. gently pivot the nossle towards the area where you want the water to hit the wind shield. be careful not to push the pin too much into the nossle. you may warp the nossle tip and the water my spray out in an undesireable fashion.
