1 Answer

I have a Nissan Titan 2006 and when we hooked it up on the diagnostic computer it shoed an EVAP code. We did the smoke test but nothing was showing for a leak. What do I need to do. I checked my fuelcap and everything is fine with that

Did you remove the shrader valve from the purge solenoid, and put on adapter for smoke. It has to be closed, otherwise
Did you not component check, according to the Evap Code
Where all system valves closed or hoses removed and plugged. Missed something

P0455 code on 2006 Chevy 4WD 5.3 liter

Trouble Code: P0455

Evaporative Emission (EVAP) System Large Leak Detected

Possible Causes:

A fuel fill cap that is left OFF after a fuel fill will cause this DTC to set.A loose, missing, or damaged fuel fill cap can cause this DTC to set.A blockage or restriction in the EVAP purge solenoid, purge pipe EVAP canister, or vapor pipe, can cause this DTC to set.A temporary blockage in the EVAP purge solenoid, purge pipe, or EVAP canister could cause an intermittent condition. Inspect and repair any restriction in the EVAP system. To help locate intermittent leaks, use the J 41413-200 to introduce smoke into the EVAP system. Move all EVAP components while observing smoke with the J 41413-SPT .To improve the visibility of the smoke exiting the EVAP system, observe the suspected leak area from different angles with the J 41413-SPT .Observe the Freeze Frame/Failure Records vehicle mileage since the diagnostic test last failed may help determine how often the condition occurs that caused the DTC to set . This may assist in diagnosing the condition.

Code 1446 is for a problem with the EVAP canister control valve.
The valve would need to be tested.

My Nissan yesterday started idling terribly and when I was driving it was shaking and vibrating so bad it felt like I was driving with square tires.

I doubt the EVAP problem is causing the rough running. The knock sensor code means the knock sensor noted a severe vibration. The cylinder 4 code could mean the miss has become bad enough to trigger a code for one cylinder.
I would look at the injectors and for a vac leak. And the spark plugs can be firing in air but not inside the cylinders under pressure.

The service engine soon light came on. I went to auto zone and they found trouble code P1456. How do I fix this?

hi, dear friend, this is an obd2 trouble code table. it can help you understand the meaning of code.
The best way to fix a P1456 error (small evap. leak) on your Nissan is to have a "smoke machine" test done on it. This machine is hooked up to your car and pushes smoke throught the evap. system. The smoke will shoot out of the leak and indicate its precise location. You can also try getting a new gas cap and make sure that it clicks 3 times when you close it after filling your tank. Also, NEVER leave your car running when your fueling up as this can cause your "service engine soon" light to come on. The best choice however is doing the smoke test as this will elimiate any guess as to the location of the leak. Nissan dealers can perform this smoke machine test for you for about $90.00 and can save you alot of money by pin-pointing the leak so you don't keep buying parts you don't need.

Code P0455 for nissan xterra 2002 v6

That code if for a leak in the evaporative emissions system. Check you fuel filler cap first. If it isn't on right it will cause this fault code. If that's not it, you'll need a mechanic to test the entire system for leaks.

Code p0455 evap emission (large)

have the gas cap tested or just replace it, then disconnect the battery for 5 minutes to reset the code, then drive it for a few miles and see if problem comes back, if it does a trip to the dealer is in order, as this may be covered by your emission warranty which is good for 70,000 miles.
