Question about 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer Ext

Open Question

2006 TRAILBLAZER EXT LS 6 CYLINDER 2 WHEEL DRIVE. THIRD BRAKE LIGHT WORKS. I CHANGED THE CIRCUIT BOARDS IN THE HOUSING OF THE LIGHTS, CHANGED FUSES, RELAY, BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH, AND BULBS. BRAKE LIGHTS STILL WILL NOT WORK. ONLY THE 3RD ONE. DEALER WANTS $90 JUST TO LOOK AT IT, BUT SAID IT WAS A COMMON PROBLEM. NO RECALLS FOR 06. SOME BLACKNESS BUILT UP ON THE DRIVERS SIDE CIRCUIT BOARD, AROUND THE BULB, AND IT IS ONLY A FEW MONTHS OLD. THEY WORKED FOR A LITTLE WHILE, NOW THEY ARE OUT AGAIN. ANY IDEAS?

SOURCE: no brake lights

Took my Trailblazer to dealership. They replaced both rear tail light socket boards (these are plastic parts that house all of the rear lamps/bulbs and attach to tail light housing) They advised the sockets in the boards have a tendency to go bad. Everything works just fine. Cost of each part was approximately $29.00. Easy to replace yourself and save the labor.

You will need to check the contacts where the bulb inserts for arcing, causing a short. Test for power and ground at the conn. 2 b sure you have power there. If this is the case you will need to replace the light assembly.

My brake lights aren't working and fuses, switch and lamps are new. Help?

Before you get too far, did you check applicable fuse circuits for voltage? Even if the fuse is good, if no voltage, the circuit is still dead. Use a testlight to check voltage. My info showed two fuses for brake circuit. One is in the rear seat fuse block.
Your owners manual should have fuse location info.

Customer Concern: No blower motor function. AntiLock Brake System (ABS), Red Brake Warning Light (RBWL), Traction lights all on. Radio does not work. Tests/Procedures: 1. Check for battery voltage at fuses #31 and 39 in Rear Fuse Box under the rear seat.

2. If the voltage value is less than battery voltage, check the Orange wire at the 48 cavity connector located at the base of the steering column at pin D1.

3. If the voltage is low at C201 check the voltage at pin "G" of the ignition switch.

Potential Causes: Ignition Switch

2006 Chevy Trailblazer...the top "third"

Brake light problem - if bulbs and fuses (#34 and #43 in rear fuse panel) are good, then only other possibility are the circuit boards where all the tail lights are located.

Noise coming from rear is the mode control actuator in the rear HVAC unit, it is trying to move a stuck blend door.

I have a 2004 Chevy TrailBlazer that just developed a problem with the left turn signal. The left turn signal indicator on the dash is blinking rapidly and the tail light turn signal is out. I change out...

The Trailblazers have a common problem with the printed circuit boards in the tail lamp housing.
Unplug the tail lamp housing at the wiring connector and test for power with a test light. ( With turn signals on) You may have an open circuit in the lamp housing circuit board. Good luck

2005 Chevy Trailblazer no brake lights, but third brake is working....

The body mounted brake lights, are on a different fuse than the upper light. Check fuse #12 a 25amp fuse in the fuse block under the hood on
the left fender. The upper light fuse #16 a 10amp fuse in the rear fuse
block, under the left side of the back seat. Hope this helps.
