They should be right off the ignition switch..cut only with car on and running if doing any cutting/splicing.

info source from the internet....

I'd recommend to Google the situation first.

I got a 2006montecarlo that will start but the anti theft will activate thus shutting the car down can i disable the antitheft so my car will start a dash light comes on of a car with a lock on it

There are bypass systems on the market, but make sure you buy one that is compatible with your car. The ones I checked were NOT compatible. Your key should have a transponder pellet inside. Do you have the original key? If yes, maybe you just need to replace the receiver in the column or maybe it's just a broken wire... I have pasted the wiring diagram below.

'98 Oldsmobie Intrigue how do I permanently disable the security system?

From the moment you put your key in the ignition, there begins a constant line of communication between your key's security chip or transponder, to the ignition's lock cylinder, and then to the car's TDM (Theft Deterrent Module). These 3 parts are in CONSTANT communication. If the key is in the ignition, then these parts are sending signals to each other.
The security light illuminates when that signal gets broken, or not seen at all. When the communication breaks, the car misinterprets this as an attempt at theft and goes into antitheft mode. (like it thinks it's being hot wired) The car shuts down because it is not getting that signal from YOUR specific key. This is why the security light turns on and shuts down your vehicle. It will either turn off the starter, or the fuel injectors. The vehicle may run for 2-3 seconds before shutting down. This link explains it pretty well.

How do I reset the security system on a 2001 Oldsmobile Aurora

If the security light is on you can try the 10 min. relearn procedure . Turn the key to run ( not start ) an leave the key on for ten min. If the light goes off in ten . min. turn the key off . Then start the vehicle . If the security light doesn't go off there is a hard fault an you will need to have it diagnosed by a repair shop that knows how .

This is the dreaded antitheft security system. This a visual indication that something in the car's antitheft system is failing. In most GM cars and trucks there is a hidden system that most people are unaware even exists. Car won't start, message start disabled, anti theft

Most times it is a chip fail in the key or a broken wire at the lock cylinder.

No power to start

Could possibly be the antitheft system disabling your starter. This is rather common on GM vehicles. The antitheft system can't communicate the "OK" signal from the key, so the it disables the starter or fuel injectors thinking it is being hotwired.

How to hot wire ignition

It is impossible. Your car has an antitheft system on it. Without the chip key or transponder key, your car will go into antitheft mode and disable the starter or injectors. Or both.
