Question about 2008 Dodge Caliber

I jammed the driver's door against a post at a gas station while the door was open and now the door won't stay shut. What do I need to do? The inside of the door by the latch is bent a little bit.

You will need the help of a tinkering shop to get the door fixed as it has to be removed and correccted to get it aligned with the door posts.
For a easy job the door can be hit back in but this can be bad or you may damage the glass within .
So my advice is to remove the door , all fittings and place it down to measure and correct .

If you cannot or are not able to disassemble the door trim and get to it yourself to "jam" it back out with tools, Take it to any small or out of the way competent body shop and ask them if they can show you or give you a temporary fix to get it to close for a few dollars ($20-$50). many will help you in these hard times, knowing a of of people are strapped for cash.
Never hurts to ask...

The gas cap door on my 1999 rav4 won't open unless one person pulls the interior lever and another opens the door w their fingers

Often the door has to be pushed against a spring to close so when the release is pulled the door springs open a small distance

Designs that don't include a spring usually include a rubber buffer that must be compressed slightly to close the door. It isn't unusual for the rubber buffer to be left lying on a gas station forecourt though I have seen designs that include adjustable buffers that won't stay where they are adjusted to and need a spot of glue.

Mazda 3 2010 driver's door locked and won't open

This is what fixed the my car's driver's door that was stuck closed and locked: the plastic piece that function as the manual lock/unlock on the inside of the door (it's black but when the door's unlocked it has a red side facing out) had essentially popped out and everything was jammed. So you push the button back in while you flip the inside handle open. But maybe I was lucky, in that it was only the button that was jammed.

Interior roof lights won't go off

This can be caused by a door or trunk being ajar, be sure you shut all doors firmly, if there is still no resolve check by shutting all doors then open one up and press the button (if any) on the inside of the door jam and see if it is broken or the light goes off.

Gas door won't open

FIRST: try using the gas release lever from inside the car with the driver side door closed. My 2006 Jetta gas release lever would only work if the driver door were shut and I pulled the release from the inside car interior. Turns out it was a severed door wire (NOT THE RELEASE CABLE). Thus when the door was open, it stretched the damaged wire and so none of the door controls worked unless the door was closed. ie windows, trunk release, and gas release. It was a $600 repair at the dealership, parts and labor! :(

2007 Hyundai Accent the driver side door won't open from the inside. It opens from the outside so I have to roll down the window and open the door before i shut the engine off.

Either the interior door handle or the cable inside the door is broken. You'll need to remove the door panel and look to see what is damaged.

Doors freeze up wont shut close after opening interior light then stays on

Look at the end of the door where the latch is located. The latch may have flipped to the closed possition when the door was open. There is a U shaped piece that when the door hits the post on the door jam it flips up to hold the door shut.If you can get the passinger door open you can see what it looks like in the open position. If this is the problem just hold the door handle like you are opening the door and with a srew driver or even your finger you can push than U piece back down.To keep your door from freezing shut try putting sone silicone spray on a paper towl and wiping it on the rubber door seal.Spray a little on the door latch as well.

2006 Jetta 2.5 trunk latch operate when really cold

you need to remove the trim cover on the inside of the trunk lid. it sounds like the solenoid is jamming. the solenoid should flick out against a lever that will release the trunk lid and then return back again within a split second. if it stays out then it is jamming, and thus holding the truncks locking mechanism open.
the solenoid may also jam shut and therefor not release the lock. if you can see this happening then replace the solenoid.

Fuel Door will not open on Altima

Try having somebody pull on the gas door as you pull the release inside the car. The black clip you dropped may be a spring to push door open when release is pulled. If that does not work you will have to remove the plastic trim pannel inside the wheel well and unbolt gas door from the back side. That may be difficult if you've never done before. Good luck.
