Open the hood and right in front of the window glass area driver side is the MASTER CYLINDER.
Open the master cylinder and fill as needed with the proper fluid ...or..take it to a relative or friend or the Auto parts store and have them help you.

I HAVE A 92 MERCURY GRAND MARQUIS AND I NEED TO KNOW HOW TO CHECK MY TRANI FLUID. I KNOW HOW TO WORK ON CARS JUST NOT THIS ONE CAUSE ITS A FORD

Checking the fluid is not work. Get car up to running temp. Put in park. get out and open hood. Find the transmission dipstick. Pull it out and check the fluid level.

1). get a helper first. perferablility some one can follow instruction.
have the helper set in the car and ready to step on the brake pedal.
2). fill the brake cylinder to the max mark. have the helper step on the brake 3 times and hold it . while you open the bleeder valve at the wheel brake cylinder. Watch the brake fluid, wait till it just before it empty out, close the valve. and tell the helper to release the brake. do this till there is not air coming out, just steady stream of brake fluid. close the valve. and move to the other wheel.
IT IS IMPORTANT THE HELPER DO NOT RELEASE THE BRAKE PEDAL BEFORE YOU CLOSE THE VALVE. if that happen, you just have to keep doing it till all air are out.
3). start from the rear right, rear left, front right, front left.
4). maek sure the fluid in the master clyinder do not drop below the min line.
5). fill the master brake cylinder with fluid and ready to go.

How do I remove the old front disk pads and replace them with new pads on a 1988 Mercury Grand Marquis? Marvin

remove the 2 bolts holding the caliper on.then remove caliper.remove pads.you may have to save clips on old pads.now dont let the caliper hang it may hurt the brake line tie it up.once pads are removed open the brake resivoir (where you put the brake fluid).now use a c-clamp to push in the caliper piston(the round part sticking out).once piston is all the way in put new pads on the caliper.don't force pads over roter.line up caliper with the bracket.put bots though the holes and tighten.do both sides and fill up the fluid put cap on.done.no bleeding required.
