Question about 2001 Honda Accord

1 Answer

Dear Expert Subject Car: 2001 Honda Accord 4DR-EX. Symptom: After starting the engine for a while, the Driver Side's Fan runs on, I then turn on the AC in medium and still keep the car in idle for 30 minutes, the temperature gauge always keeps stable below the medium level, cooling water is normal (not boiling). Till this moment, the Passenger Side's Fan still not run at all. I then perform a high speed test with the AC on on around 40 miles. After parking with the idle mode, I found the temp.gauge still stable, cooling water still stable, AC on still keep blowing cold air, and strangely that the passenger side fan is stiil not working at all. If try to think logically, the car should be or nearly in overheat because the Pass. Side Fan hasn't worked but in fact every thing is normal after the road test. I really concern if the Honda factory designs the Pass. Side Fan just works only when the car runnung? If so, how can we observe it in running? or I need to replace the new Pass. Side Fan? Your answer would be appriciated very much. Thank you and sincerely. Thierry Benjamin

Your car is not getting hot enough for both fans to operate. One fan and your cooling system is doing the trick.

Honda accord ex 2001 check engine light suddenly came on, car started to idle roughly

If it's running rough, chances are that it's misfiring. If the Check Engine light is flashing/blinking, it is definitely misfiring.
If that's the case, drive it as little as possible... Or straight to the mechanic because the more you drive it while it's misfiring, the higher the chance is of you ruining your catalytic converter.

Hey guys, I am having a problem, I just got a 92 accord 4dr ex , the car starts and drives but it sounds like it is not going in to overdrive, it goes up to 4th and thats it , on the highway I got the car...

You have an older OBDI car. Take the car to a parts store and have them read the code. Not all stores carry the OBDI readers anymore so call first. You could have anything from a bad trans to bad speed sensors. The code will help.

After I turned off the car today, it still sounded like the fan was running. I opened the hood and something was running, couldn't figure out what it was. I drove it around the block a few times and...

it is the radiator cooling fan. It can and does come on at any time! It will sometimes run right after turning of the engine, usually for no more than a minute or two depending on how hot it is. this is a normal operation. There is propbably a sticker on top of the radiator warning you of the fan's operation.

Honda 2001 ex stopped running and steering locked up

you say stopped running steering locked up the steering lock is mechanical and has nothing to do with the actually running of the engine so i am presumming that the car was idling stalled on its own and the steering as you tried to restart it locked or the steering won,t turn it won,t if the engine s not running as it is helped by the power steering pump which doesn,t work unless then engines running but if the steering has just locked up then you won,t be able to turn the steering in which case you,ll need a new steering lock not that big a job yates210456

Have you replaced the distributer cap as well? Check for carbon build up inside the cap and on the rotor itself.
