Question about Mercedes-Benz ML320

How do you replace the rear bumper on a 98 mercedes ml320? is that something i could do myself? I dented the rear bumper and want to rplace it, but i want to go to a salvage yard to find a replacement so i don't have to buy a new one. how do i remove the bumper without damaging it and how do i put it on. are there special tools required? i have some car repair experience.

Its actually pretty easy to replace the rear bumper. I don't think you should have any problems doing it yourself. If I remember right I think there is only like 6 or 8 nuts that hold it on. 2 one each of the side and a couple in the middle. Just need to pull the spare tire out of the way. There may be a couple of gps antenna connections to disconnect.

How to r & r front bumper on a 2001 mercedes ml320


you have a painted numer cover over the bumper that must be removed, before you can access the bumper and remove it, remove all attaching hardware that attaches the bumper>reinstall and align front bumper install bumper cover and align, and paint as neccessary, I wouldtake it to a body shop and have it repaired if you have not done this repair before as you may find misalignment and seized hardware.

Unless they change everything, the bumper just bolys on. Fisconnect the tow plug and what ever else and take the bolts out of the brackets attached to the frame, Good Luck, Ned-

Mercedes ml320 - hear noise sounding like springs recoil


our shop work on alot of ml320 the noise you are describing is a bushing in the rear suspension,on the torque bar.

is it a rubber bumper? use suction cups, thats what dent specialist use instead of takin off the entire bumper. use a winshield dashboard suction cup for example. Just be creative...

you would need to heat it up from behind to remove the dent and the rubbing compound should work as long as it hasnt penetrated your paint layer
