SOURCE: how do you take the starter off a 1996 honda passport

Yea I know. I hate doing starters in the car. Pretty much its just manuvering it around to get it to slide out. Once you get it disconnected.

It will have three bolts bolting it into the transmission. And then of course the two power bolts.

It sounds like it may be a stopped up radiator or a possible blown head gasket. You need to take it to a repair shop and have the radiator flow checked and also check for the presence of hydrocarbons in the coolant which would indicate a possible blown head gasket or a cracked cylinder head.

SOURCE: 1995 honda passport overheating. We changed the

If the fan is running and the car is really running hot it is a problem with coolant circulation, either a thermostat that isn't opening fully (I have seen intermittent ones) or crud buildup in the radiator. I say really running hot because a defective instrument sender or wiring problem could cause an incorrect reading.I would suggest replacing the thermostat first (or removing it for a while as a test) to see how the temperature behaves, and if it behaves badly a good radiator flush. When u filled the car up with coolant did u open the bolt to purge the air in the system.I had a accord that was doing the same thing .the bolt to purge air on my accord was right beside the thermostat.just a suggestion with what info u have given. if so It might be the Head Gasket caused the car to overheat.

It sounds like it could be a head gasket or some migration of exhaust gas into your water jackets, do a head gasket leak test and that will determine what direction you take next, make sure the top hose has been bled of all air first

1996 Honda Passport overheated. Heater started only hot air when moving, then would go cold at stops two days ago. When it overheated today, a lot of steam came out of the radiator cap. I noticed the...

Ususally when the heater blows hot air only when the car is at hight RPM is because low coolant in the system. It sounds like a bad thermostat . In the worst case you need to do a diagnostic check to the head gasket. Because the first thing to get blowen out when the car over heat are the head gasket.

It could be that during the changing of the gaskets that some debris may have ended up in the oil passages in the heads slowing the flow of the returning oil. Or could be the oil pressure unit itself.
