Sounds like a bad fuel pump, and or severely plugged fuel filter, check fuel pressure, it should have a minimum of 35 psi.

My 1989 corvette starts and runs awhile then just dies then it will restart but will die again

Gm has bad ignition coils, also you may have a weak fuel pump, especially if the car has sit with old fuel in it. Try changing the fuel filter and coil.

My timberwolf starts up and runs fine for 15 minutes about, then i will be cruising along and it dies out, completely. Let it sit for a bit, and it will run fine for awhile again. backfires throttleup

about as long as it takes to get a vacuum in the fuel tank
check vent system for the fuel tank
possible overheating of the ignition module, coil due to internal failure of components

Why does my car try to die when i drive down the road?

Try to check the ignition coil, when you driving it become hot then the car dies end won't start. After awhile when it's cold, then it will start. Replace the ignition coil.
I hope it solves the problem

Car starts fine after sitting awhile. If you drive awhile then stop and try to restart it won't.

Check the electronics, cam sensor or crank sensor these are the culprits.

sounds like it could be a coil issue after its been sitting for awhile it starts again correct? when its running the coil will warm up and if there is a small crack in it anywhere it will seperate and loose its contact therefore interupting the spark for the engine and it will die. or it could be a bad fuel pump or even cheeper yet check the fuel filter.

Engine dies while idling, then car won't start for a few minutes

One possibility is a blocked fuel line or filter. It basically runs out of fuel and you have to wait for it to come through slowly. The other possibility is the ignition system is losing spark as something heats up. You have to wait until it's cooled down before it runs again.

96 GMC Jimmy starts okay but dies after about 10 minutes. It will start again after sitting for awhile, then dies again. Have changed the fuel filter and pump...any other ideas?

If you have replaced the fuel pump and filter I would still check the pump pressure when it wants to die. Check for any trouble codes in the system also.

Car dies and battery light comes on.

Will it crank over when it won't start? When It dies check for spark at the sparkplugs if none change the ignition module.
