Question about 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee

1 Answer

The ac on my 2000 jeep cherokee blows cold most of the time but occasionally it stops working...it will blow cold again after a few min but sometimes it takes alot longer. I was told it was probably the low pressure switch but i have no idea where that is...I have already changed the pressure switch that is on top of the black canister looking thing (sorry i'm gonna use the girl excuse on that one) and that didnt seem to work. is there a high pressure switch AND a low pressure switch? please help!!!

Make sure your fan clutch is working. No fan, no cooling of the condenser, no heat dissipation, no cold air. Start the truck and make sure you feel air movement, a lot.

I have a 2000 jeep cherokee sport 6 cyl. The a.c will come on and blow cold air for about 5 min. then starts to blow hot. Can't get it to stay cold. What could this be?

over pressure or high pressure in system will cause high pressure cutoff switch to go open, also poor air flow across condenser could add to the problem. When the A\C stops getting cold is the compressor still engaged and running.

A/C fan quit blowing, but cold air seems to be coming through the vents. which fuse controls this? I can't find my owners manual. 2000 JEEP Cherokee. Thanks, Chuck

fuse should be third up from bottom on right...25 amp. Or, 40 amp in power distribution center.but I believe that part of system is for ac compressor. If fuse blows again, likely motor is worn out.
