You will need to have the fuel pressure checked. thoses suburbans are know to have fuel pump problems especially at the age of the truck.

Just turns off on it's own, Wait 60 sec. restart press pedel it dies.

This engine is electronically controlled so the first thing that must be done here is to have the systems control computer tested for fault codes and then do the proper diagnostics based on those codes.

Ran out of gas driving down freeway, pulled over . put 4 gals gas in but still wont restart

Running it low and out of fuel may have killed the fuel pump.

When you first turn the key ON, listen for the fuel pump to run for about 2 seconds.
If it does not run it could be a bad pump, relay, ECM or the circuit. Knowing that it was ran out of gas I would bet on the pump being bad.

If it does run it may have a plugged filter from drawing up any sediment from the tank.

I have a 2004 suzuki forenza it has 53000 miles on it and all of a sudden it stopped running on the freeway its acting like it is out of gas

If it acts like it's out of gas maybe it's really out of gas - the fuel pump has died or the fuel filter is clogged . Check them.

Try taking the exhaust pipe loose at the manifold. I had a Chevy Suburban that acted the same way, it turned out to plugged catyletic converter. The converter wasn't letting the exhaust out, the truck had no power, it would stall and then start right up and great for about five seconds the run rough and quit. Once I disconnected the exhaust it started right up and ran great. You could also try taking the O2 sensors out (for test purposes) ahead of the converter that will give the exhaust a place to go

Engine starves for fuel after running about 50 miles or so...

Has Neon do same, I ran fuel at low level, on hot day, ran engine until it started to act up & threw a fuel pressure gauge on it. Was at approx 5 psi. Cold next morning, 48-50 psi. Always hot day about 30-40 miles into work in morning, o.k. Sit in hot sun all day & would happen 3-4 times on way home. Sit and let cool, 20 minutes or so & go again for a while. Cool day, no problem. Change pump I would.
