Question about 1999 Ford F150 Regular Cab

1 Answer

If I let my truck set a day or sometimes just overnight when I try to start it all it will do is turnover. I checked to see if it was firing and it wasn't. But if I wait til the next morning after the day it won't start to try starting it, it usually starts no problem. I've tried running code on it but it seems I have a loose wire or something so I can't run code. Its been doing it now just randomly for about 2yrs so I can't depend on it. I'm thinking its somethin electrical but I can't seem to figure it out.

I need to know where the fuel filter is on a ;ford escort.

Try on the firewall, behind engine on drivers side.. If you have a fuel injected model, you need to release the pressure before removing. Also this sounds more like a fuel pump problem than a filter problem.

Have the battery tested, it sounds like it went dead or went open inside overnight. Autozone and others test batteries for free.

You need to find out what the error code is - Service engine soon means an error code was generated.

With the problem you discribed, it sounds like a coil problem. If a crack has developed in the casing, the crack size changes with temperature changes. Also make sure that the wires are in good shape.

This sounds like the battery may be weak or a bad connection. I would start by have the battery checked or try jump starting the car, try jumpimg it and see if that will make it start, if it starts then you may have a charging or battery problem, seeeing that this car is over 10yrs old and if the battery is the same one that came with the car then i would have to think you may have a bad battery. good day

My 1997 Dodge Avenger's engine won't start

Try cam and/or crank sensor. If crank to cam timing isn't detected properly it'll crank all day but won't start. I had similar problem on my 2.5L V6 Avenger....drove home fine, no engine light, next morning it cranked, but wouldn't start. The crank sensor was faulty.

2005 Jeep Grand Cherookee sometimes won't start

This could be something simple. Your starter draws far more power than anything except for the a/c clutch (not in play here) Since all accessories are functioning, it's likely that the battery terminals are oxidized. A high-draw item will actually break the connection temporarily. This condition will also change with humidity and temperature. Remove them and use a small wire brush or sandpaper to clean the battery posts and the inside of the connectors on the wires themselves. If you have done this and still have a problem, then you should start looking for other larger problems.
Good luck
