Not sure if you still need an answer, but the air mix door is likely not opening and closing properly. This is attached to the temperature control knob on your dash and is what selects hot or cold air to enter the cabin. The cable connects just above the accelerator pedal and you should see a cable, attached to a black gear that turns a white gear. Sometimes the white gear becomes loose and falls out. Nissan Technical Service Bulletin on this. If you remove screw holding black gear and turn white gear it should change your temperature. The TSB is easy to have Nissan fix or you can likely perform.

2002 nissan altima heater problem

have 2002 altima, blower works no heat at idle and very little heat when accelerating.I changed carbon cabin filter, made sure little gear under dash to temp knob wasnt broken, flushed and bled system.Nothing worked so checked hoses to heater core and found inlet hose was hot, outlet hose was not.So investigated this problem and came to conclusion heater core was clogged. An easy way to check is to get car to normal running temp. put on heater and blowers at full.Go under dash on passenger side where counsel meets firewall, this is where heater core core inlet and outlet aluminum tubbing go through firewall, you will be able to feel both tubes one closest to you is outlet, so if this one is not hot and and other is your heater core is clogged.I detached both inlet and outlet hoses to heater core from water control valve. Then I blasted water with waterhose and nozzle set at jet, first through outlet hose to blow gunk out, then through inlet hose until water runs clear.Reatach hoses fill and bled system.heater works great nice and hot!

2002 Ford Taurus SE. Heater motor and fan work fine on all speed settings but the air coming from the vents is moderately warm at best and not hot when temp selection is to hot. When I move the temp...

Check the heater valve is fully open when in the hot position , this valve or tap often get stuck half open. if all is ok there flush the heater radiator as they can silt up.

2002 grand prix, will not blow hot air, engine heats up fine and cooling system checks ok.

With the engine warmed up feel the heater lines going into the firewall. You will probably find that one is very hot and the other only look warm or even cold. If this is the case the heater core needs to be flushed. With the engine cold remove the hoses at a convenient location and back flush the heater core. Reconnect the lines and warm the engine back up with the heat on.

1st thing I would do is have your thermostat checked at a rebutable rad shop also somtimes the rad cores get blocked and will not circulate the heat properly either problem can be rectified at the rad shop...good luck

Heater and defrost blowing cold air

Check your engine cooling system for low coolant or a bad thermostat. That's where the heater and defroster get the heat. You may also have a clogged heater core.

My 2002 nissa altima has no heat in park or when stopped although while driving from a long distance it gives out warm air

Check coolant level, make sure it's at the proper fill mark when cold.
Partially blocked heater core - back flush cooling system
Defective heat control valve.
Hope this helps.

Nissan Altima no cool air blowing or hot air blowing

Hi!
It appears we have an Air lock scenario and you will need to perform a system Bleed.
Park the vehicle on level ground, when cold remove coolant filler cap, start engine and leave to idle, turn heater on full and blower to max. When engine reaches operating temperature watch and listen near coolant filler, keep clear as gurgling and hopefully a boil over should occur. Top up with very warm coolant and wait as it may do it again.
Check for heat inside vehicle if warm replace coolant cap but keep an eye on temperature gauge as the ~Air lock may have moved on from heater matrix/core so proceedure needs to be carried out again from COLD.
