Any time ya splice a battery cable together, you are going to have problems. You should get a cable from positive post on battery to starter, this should cure problem. also make sure all connections are clean and tight.

Check connections to crank sensor, then reset your comp by disconnecting your battery cables and holding them together. Make sure to have the code cleared as well.

P1391 (M) Intermittent Loss of CMP or CKP Loss of the Cam Position Sensor or Crank Position sensor has occurred.

Are you saying it won't crank, or won't start ?
Have you tried cranking it in neutral ?

1996 Dodge Caravan wont crank if i turn the key to start i get noting all relays are new all fuses checked the message center does not do a bulb check stays off

I would start off by trying to jump start the vehicle. If it starts and runs normal, that tells you the starter and engine are okay, and the problem is in the charging system - battery, battery cables, alternator, relays, etc.

Now if it doesn't start, I would take the belt off and see if I could move the crank manual with a wrench. If it rotates (CW) then most likely your starter is bad.

How to jump a starter in a dodge caravan 1997

there are 2 wires on the starter simply connect them together to start the cranking, you will need to make a jumper wire for the smaller wire to connect to its terminal if it wont crank and the battery is good then the starter is no good

2005 Dodge Caravan wil not start

If the engine cranks but will not start, start looking for an ignition or fuel problem. I assume the engine is cranking normally. You should clean the battery posts anyway.
