Spray WD 40 or another lube into it to try to free it up. The tumblers will sometimes jam up with dirt and dust and this will free them up.

Want start an key stuck n the switch

Sometimes when the key gets stuck, is because the steering wheel is in the lock position. Try moving it to one side first, and if there is no play, then try the other way, (is going to be a little hard) and when it moves, turn the key.

that problem is usually in the ignition switch.wiggle the steering wheel and the key at the same time in and out back and forth on the key if its going to come out its going to take a little more than the normal turn sometimes a little luck. make sure youre in park too ive seen that happen where the vehicle hasnt latched all the way into park.

The ignition is stuck on my 99 Nissan Altima. We

Have you tried to turn the wheel far to the left as you try to turn the key? Also try to turn the key backwards in the ignition while holding wheel to the left. If those don't work, maybe try sliding the key in with a little WD-40 as this will lubricate the ribs in the ignition slightly and just insert/remove key slowly and quickly a few times and then try the steps above.

Does the car have a key release button? Sometimes these get stuck with the wheel turned slightly and the ribs of the ignition will not close on the key to allow for operation of the ignition.

Let me know,

The key gets stuck in the ignition sometimes it turns and other times it doesn't. could it be the transponder?

The first thing to check is to carefully examine the ignition key. If it is worn down, or even slightly bent, get a new key cut. If you don't have a key in good shape to copy from, your Toyota dealer can cut one, if they know your VIN number. If your key looks good, the most likely suspect is your ignition lock cylinder. You can try lubing it with a little graphite lock lube, but no WD-40 or anything!

Ignition is totally frozen on my 2000 Tahoe. No

No movement where the key goes in ?

If so - shoot some penatrating oil or wd-40 into the key hole..
Then push the key in & out many times before trying to turn it..
Repete
Sometimes the tumblers in there get dirty & stuck..
Good luck..

Ignition locked will not turn

easiest way to handle this problem is as you turn the key turn the steering wheel back and forth not real hard bust firm and try and turn the key foward and back at the same time. usually what happens is the little detente inside the column gets stuck just right and stops the tumbler from moving

Car thinks the key is still in the ignition

There is a little button inside the ignition switch that gets pushed out of the way when the key is inserted, and sometimes that button gets stuck in the closed position. It will chime until that button is released. You might have to replace the ignition switch. Sometimes you can play around with the key in the switch, or use a pick to work it free. Hopefully this can help you fix the problem. Best wishes.
