Question about Dodge Ram 3500
Well the replacement usually involves
1.) remove the old alternator by loosening the bolt on the clamp lever (tension lever) slide alternator forward then loosen and remove the bolt on the underside, remove alternator wires then remove alternator.
2.) bolt up underside of new alternator, replace wires then insert bolt on tension clamp. replace belt, and pull alternator as far back and possible and tighten bolt on tension clamp. Use a lever between the alternator and another metal car part to help pull the alternator back,,,
thats whats involved in replacing it,, how much the mechanic will charge I'm not sure different ones have different prices, but it should not be that much..
