Replace the relay. Probably runs around $12. If your bypassing by using a direct hot instead of bypassing off the relay hot trace the hot side of the relay all the way back till you find the break.

    the relays are all new

Yes, the relays may be new but if you have a grounded wire that supplies the power to those relays it won't matter. Locate the power in line and trace it back to the source to make sure there is no break. There are a limited number of problems that can cause the situation you have. If the pump is working when you by pass the relay then that may be an indicator of where the problem actually exist. When you bypassed the relay, did you use the hot side of the relay to do the bypass or did you run a separate wire from another power source? This isolates where the problem is located. If you used to power wire to the relay itself then the problem is located in the loop that closes the relay going back to your ignition which could be a kill switch of some type if it was installed incorrectly or that shorted out. If the ignition switch is working correctly, there are two fuses you need to check. 1 is located in the interior Fuse panel, the other is located in the Fuse panel under the hood. The one on the interior fuse panel is typically a 10 amp that connects in the ignition switch circuit, this allows a voltage to be sent to the relay to close the loop and activate the relay to allow the fuel pump to engage. the one under the hood is typically a 30 amp fuse which allows the current that flows through the relay itself.

Bypass fuel pump relay

Bypassing the fuel pump relay has potentially serious safety implications and is something only suitable for testing fuel system pressures or to be done in an emergency to start a dead car only when not doing it is potentially more dangerous than doing it.

Bypassing the fuel pump relay is not for the inexperienced and if a person asks the question how, that person is clearly not experienced. Data books providing fuel injection test data often include diagrams and how-to instructions.

How do i bypass fuel system relay for 2000 chevy silverado lt

Why would you want to bypass a fuel system relay? Are you talking about a fuel pump relay? There are reasons for such relays, and one of the reasons is to STOP pumping fuel if there is an accident!

4.3 v6 vortex 2002, the truck will not turn over, there is spark at the plug, and fuel and pressure at the valve on top of the engine. When I turn the key is starts but don't turn on. Just replaced fuel...

Most fuel injection systems use a ignition bypass circuit to energize the fuel pump when starting the engine. However, when the engine starts and the ignition key is returned to the "On" position, a Fuel Pump Relay keeps the fuel pump working. The relay may be defective.

99 montero fuel pump relays

Fuel pump relays are designed to trigger the power from using the power system of the vehicle to a direct battery power connection. Relays save the sensitive power used accessories by not robbing the power from them and bypassing them to use the power right from the battery source.

For example, if a relay was not used for the pump, it would lower the idle on your car everytime it turned on. Having a relay allows the pump to run and not steal valuable voltage from the cars system. These fuel relays are also a safety device in case of a car accident. The car has shock sensors that react in a car accident and shut the fuel pumps off through the relays so the occupants do not burn in an accident. If these continued to run after an accident and fuel continued to be pumped at a high pressure rate, you can imagine what the consequences might be.

Relays make the route to the battery to run the item, more direct. Bypassing the cars needed power to run the vehicle.

Bypass fuel pump ford f150

There are four terminals on the relay. One is power, one is the pump circuit, the other two are for the magnet that closes the contacts.
You jumper a wire between the power and pump terminals in the box.
The relay is marked with a diagram and the pins on the relay are numbered.

1988 sable will not start .sometimes you can here the fuel pump then it starts .when you do not here the fuel pump it will not start . could this be a relay?

It's possible. Relays can and do go bad after a while, when the electrical contacts get pitted, and then the connection becomes unreliable. On many cars the relays are similar to each other. Try swapping the fuel pump relay with an AC or cooling fan or other relay, and see if the problem clears up.

how did you jump the fuel pump relay, by bypassing the relay or by applying power to contact that closes the relay? If you bypassed the relay completely you need to b ench test the relay you can do this easily by using any 12v dc power source. If you tested the fuel pump relay by applying power to the relay and the pump run and developed pressure. I suspect a wiring or ground issue. Good luck

Chances are the fuel pump relay has died, and the bypass switch is turning it on in the absence of the relay. Replace your fuel pump relay and you should be able to get rid of the bypass switch.
