How do I Program a key fob to a volvo s40 2008

If you are just changing battery, then no programming is needed.
If you bought new key and want to program it, you need to visit your Volvo dealer.

Re programme key fob?

The key fob has to be programmed by a dealer. The car has to be connected to the Volvo computer readout/program system

Bought used RX 300, master key fob broken, flat key doesnt work

You can get empty key cases on ebay, open the old key case and remove the transponder with the buttons on it and transfer it to the new key case, no programming necessary because you are using the same transponder, al that's left then is to have the key cut to fit the ignition switch.

I lost my keyless entry XC70 key and my dealer is quoting me $400 for a replacement...any suggestions for a cheaper alternative?

The car keys need to be programmed using VADIS/VIDA. Buy the key fob on ebay and have the dealer cut and program the key.

Imobiliser problem

If im not mistaken, your car should have an alarm reset/override.Below the steering column,on the dash should be a slot where you put your remote transmitter to deactivate the alarm. If that works, you then need to have your remote checked and coded by a vw dealer.Good luck.

Does a 1998 v70 come with remote fob for central locking

Should have a key fob.  You can buy a used one and the dealer can program it.  You can not program it yourself.

1999 Volvo V70 - did NOT come with the elctronic key fob. I have seen the exact same fob on ebay, for about $30, which I then take to be programmed at the dealers. I have heard to ask for an ADDITIONAL key...

dont do the ebay thing. once a key has been programmed for a car. it cannot be reprogrammed for YOUR car. you have to go to the dealer.
in this case the dealer has got you!
people sell thier car and keep the extra key. then sell them on ebay. the ebay key will be of no use to your car. but people will buy the keys anyway in desparation because the dealerships charge soo soooo much..

Key fobs dont work

have you checked the fuses in the fuse panel. make sure you check them all sometimes manufactures use multiple fuses to control one thing.
