Use a flashlight and shine it on the dashboard instement panel at an angle.. it is going to be an amber (orange/yellow) color .

You will be required to remove the dash board instrement panel anyways to change the bulb... It will be easier to locate when the panel has been removed from the dash... as then you can shine the light into the back side of the instrement panel and see the amber lense of the service engine light more readily.

Locate the trunk light bulb.Trace the wires from it and see if a wire goes to the hanging one you talk about. If so then ground that wire and see if the light comes on.If not check the bulb and a positive feed to it.If no positive feed check the fuses. If the light does come on then you have a missing switch which is what it sounds like.Good luck!

No brake lights or turn signal

Remove the rear light housings on the back of your GMC Yukon.
There should be several light bulb sockets located on the back side of each housing.
Grasp each of the sockets, and turn them counterclockwise, while pulling outward to access the bulb.
After removing each bulb socket, check to see if the filaments inside the bulbs are broken, indicating a shot bulb.
Also, you may check to see if the wiring harness attached to each bulb socket is not loose, or show any sign of corrosion, plus, check the condition of the wiring itself for cuts, abrasions, and missing insulation, which will need to be repaired.
Finally, if none the above solutions work, the culprit may be a faulty multifunction turn signal switch, which is usually round in appearance and located underneath the dash.

My back break lights isnt working and front head lights are they both connected

If both are not working, check your brake light fuse and then bulbs for burnt filaments. If ok, could be wiring or brake light switch located at the back of the brake pedal. To eliminate the switch, if your car is equipped with cruise control, try to engage it and if it works, the switch is good, if not, switch is bad as the cruise control needs a good working brake switch to engage the cruise.

Check engine light is on and says air intake sensor where is that located on 1997 Pontiac Gran Am?

Locate the airfilter box. It is most likely on your right hand side when you open the hood. Once you locate the box which is pretty hard to miss you follow the large hosing that runs from the box to the engine. This box filters the air that your engine breaths to run. The sensor is located somewhere on the hose usually closer to the box. Check that it is not lose our falling out. If not your might want to remove the box and clean the sensor or see if it needs replacing. Box is easy to remove and replace.

Check engine light doesnt come on.but car has codes po157&po056

It sounds like you are trying to say that the bulb is blown but I could be wrong. Does the light come on for a few seconds when you turn the ignition on? If it doesn't then you need to replace the bulb. If it does then I don't know what you are trying to say.
