My truck wont run, it turns over but wont run, i've replaced the fuel filter, there was definitely pressure in the line but i don't know the specs on how much pressure is supposed to be there. i poured gas into the carb and it fired right up but stopped as soon as the gas was gone in the carb. when you turn the ignition on it makes a buzzing noise near the carb, there's a little box behind the carb, it sound like it could be coming from there. the model is a; 1996 GMC Sierra 1500 5.7L 2WD

2003 Nissan frontier truck. Running fine change the oil, oil filter, gas filter and know it won't start. When it did it back fired twice. There's no check engine light what happened?

Changing the fuel filter releases the pressure on the lines and drains the system. You need to cycle the key several times to prime the fuel lines again or keep cranking the engine till fuel pressure gets to the proper spec.

How do you replace a fuel pressure regulator in a 1996 Chevrolet C-1500 4.3 Vortek engine?

Shop manual will give step by step, with photos and proper torque specs. These are cheap--why do people resist buying one?

Chrysler 3.3l has spark starts on starting fluid but wont start , replaced plugs, cam sensor, crank sensor, feul pump

Your fuel pressure release port is near the ignition coil packs on the fuel rail nearest cabin. Remove Schrader valve with core tool and affix a rubber hose and catch can. Turn key momentarily (Listen for pump) to "On" no starting. Turn key off and check can for fuel. If no pump hum was heard, check pump relay by swapping in another that's there in box ut, not equip. needed for eng. start like A/C. Test again. If you have fuel in the can, know you have spark, compression, and clean throttle path then, I would check/test fuel pressure.Chrysler spec. is 58psi +or- 5psi. If fuel pressure is there but below spec., my experience leads me to believe that the fuel filter above the tank is impacted and requires replacement, a line is kinked,or the jumper line within your new pump asssembly has a loose fit male to female connection and is bypassing fuel or sucking atmosphere at that union point.

How to check fuel pressure

With a fuel pressure gauge. If there is a test port called a schraeder valve on the fuel rail on top of the engine, it's easy. If no test port, you have to tee off the fuel line somewhere convenient (like right after the fuel filter) and hook your gauge up there. Hook the gauge up, make sure of no leaking, turn key to on, and read the pressure (it will read the same pressure in the line as at the fuel rail). Check pressure with key on, and then with engine running- if at the specs for your vehicle, it's good. If pressure is below specs, pinch off or pull off the vacuum line to the fuel pressure regulator, and see if pressure raises. If it does, try another pressure regulator. If no change, check the fuel return line for restrictions, check or replace the fuel filter, or suspect a poor performing fuel pump. On MPFI systems the pressure should be about 50 psi, but find the specs for your vehicle.

Where is the in-line fuel filter on a 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe located.

I am not familiar with that model, but it dosen't sound like a fuel filter to me .
If it runs good after you get it started, the filter is probably ok,i don't know where it is located on that model, but it sounds like you have already found the problem (low fuel pressure) check for leaks, make sure the lines are on the right places on tank .Whatever is causing low fuel pressure is probably the solution.
hope this helps!

Starts right up ,pick up good ,when cruseing speed is reached it misses badly have replaced air filter ,plugs and plug wires has 160000 miles on it

maybe fuel pressure issue. Make sure regulator (at end of fuel rail) is getting vacuum. Replace fuel filter (Under hood, passenger side, front side of shock tower, mounted in fuel line). If this doesn't fix it, recommend checking fuel pressure (Position the ignition switch and the A/C system in theoff position. Install a fuel pressure gauge in thethe fuel line at the fuel filter connection. Locateand block off the fuel pressure regulator vacuum line.Confirm that no leaks are present, then start theengine. While the engine is at idle, visually verifythe PSI reading on the gauge). Replace pump if pressure is below spec (43 PSI)
Please let me know if you have questions.

1999dodge p/u wont go over 40 runs great at idle new plugs ,wires, cap, rotor.acts like no fuel

Replace fuel filter, because it is cheap & easy, and may solve problem.$20
Fuel injector cleaner in the gas tank $5...listen for even ticking sound in injectors at idle and higher RPM. Injectors can be services/or replaced easily. $60 each
Fuel pressure regulator, next to fuel rail, may be going out...$75
If you have an in-line pressure guage, you can meause the fuel pressure to see if is within specs.

Wont start it turns over but wont stay started

check the fuel pressure....there is a valve near the fuel pressure regulator that u can connect a fuel pressure guage to.under the hood on the right in the area of the brake master cylinder( right upper corner...( a line with a threaded valve)..check the reading and make sure they are in specs, i dont know the specs off hand but a service manual will help..if the pressure isnt in spec, replace the fuel pressure regulator..
