Question about 2003 Toyota Sequoia
After two replacements of my 2003 Toyota Sequoia rear door latch I came up with an inexpensive solution - I used a thick wire to make an alternative hatch release: (here's a video I made of the repair http://youtu.be/igDuqe5pa7w). I hope this helps!
Toyota Sequoia Rear Door Latch Handle Fix How to Repair

Have you tried to reach the latch from inside. Drop the backrest of the rear seat, so that you have plenty of space to work in, and reach the latch from inside. Like other SUVs/MUVs even this may have a knob inside to open the back door latch. You cant reach it from outside otherwise lot of thieves would have reached it before you. All the best.
