Question about 1998 Dodge Caravan
It is really common for the solder joints to fail on the instrument cluster circuit board. These joints can be re soldered and it will usually fix the problem.
The instrument cluster will need to be removed and disassembled. The joints are on the backside of the circuit board.
This image is the cluster removed and disassembled. the screwdriver is pointing at the cracked solder joint for the main instrument cluster ground.
this photo is a close up of that joint. If you look carefully you can see a ring around the joint. That is the crack. It seems unlikely but that is enough for the joint to fail. Re-flowing the joint with a soldering iron will fix this problem.
