Question about 2002 Honda Accord

Open Question

2002 Honda Accord Will not turn over. New battery. Out running errands and did not start. After messing with wires going off of battery to starter, finally started. Ran some more errands and started 4 more times. Sat overnight. Started once in the morning just to check. Now is not turning over. I have help and they seem to indicate that there may not be juice even getting to the starter. Is there anything else besides a battery or starter problem that it could be? Thanks Greg

Sounds either like the solenoid on the starter is bad or the starter its self.First try turning on your head lights and then trying to start it.If it starts then you have some bad connections either on the battery or the starter. next if that doesnt work Try hitting the starter with a hammer while someone else cranks it.If it starts then the starter is bad..

Hi
Replace the copper contacts inside the starter motor, it connects the current to the rotor once the bendix drive gear is engaged with the ring gear.

SOURCE: replace starter in 2004 honda accord

Try 'jiggling' the key while you hold it in the start position' this could be a failed ignition switch.
It could also be that the + terminal on the starter or starter solenoid may be corroded. Since the battery was just replaced, those terminals are probably clean enough but check the negative cable where it attaches to the chassis or block. If the connection is flaky here, enough current can often pass to allow lower current devices to operate but drop too much voltage if the starter is trying to operate. Starters require 100-200 amperes, many times higher than anything else in our vehicles and show up cruddy connections pretty quick.

these cars are known for bad transmissions , what did you do , why did you play around with the cluster you should never fix something that is not broke , go on youtube , you may have screwed up a wire on the cluster that controls the shifter somehow ,

Car won't start

sounds like a short, or grounded wire, maybe connectin lose on battery or starter, could be a bad solonoid on the starter, did you check to see if parts were new or used, they have to warranty the work, so check first if parts are new and then take back to have it tested and repaired make sure you have some one with you or take pictures of the work done, hope this works for you,,,

95 Honda Accord Will turn but not start

First things first. Check connections at battery. Next check battery voltage with a voltmeter. If this tests 11 to 12.5 volts, remove small wire going to starter solenoid. While having someome turn key to start position. Check for battery voltage to the small wire. If no voltage suspect ignition switch. If voltage is present at small wire while cranking suspect faulty starter motor/solenoid assembly.

Where can I get instructions on how to replace 2002 accord starter?

Starter replacements are a fairly easy job. Secured on axle stands, look for the negative battery lead. Follow it from the battery to lower in the engine bay, it will be attached to the starter.

Remove both battery leads, and the leads going from the starter to the engine block and elsewhere. Undo the three bolts holding the starter to the engine block, carefully pull it out, the flywheel can sometimes jam the teeth in.

Refit new one, make sure the wires go back in their respective place and the earth straps are clean and tight. Start her up.

Vote for me if this helps you. Thanks.

2002 honda accord car not starting or running rough when

Engine needs two things spark and fuel to run. both will cause problem your having. easiest thing to try is starting fluid spray into air intake to motor by opening air filter box. someone spray and someone start or run car - if performace changes possibly the fuel pump is going bad. If nothing improves you can look for spark problems which can be plugs or wires or ignition module(s)
