Question about 1993 Ford F250

1993 F250 4x4 7.3 idi My truck rolled into a tree

1993 F250 4x4 7.3 idi My truck rolled into a tree backwards at about 5-10 mph. Other than body damage my problem is an awful vibration that I think is coming from the transfer case. My fuel mileage has dropped noticably and it feels like im towing something. I felt the T-case after 12 miles and it was too hot to touch. The tranny was also warm and the driveline as well, but the t case was hottest? It vibrates more under acceleration and starts at about 45 mph and just gets worse the faster you go. It does it in 4th & 5th & neutral with the clutch in or out. It feels like U-joint vibration but worse and I did the U- joints like 5,000 miles ago? Any Ideas would be great. Thanks

SOURCE: Some vibrating felt when driving.

It is normal for a little bit of movement in the driveshaft if the U-joints are good. Get your tires balanced and see if that solves your vibration problem.

SOURCE: ford super duty vibration/shake

The carrier bearing should not move at all. It is mounted in rubber to give a little. But, it should not move freely. If this is the case then something has gone bad. The carrier bearing would cause this vibration as it spins if it is loose.

SOURCE: vibration when accelerating from stopped position

3 things; U-joints, (very likely) ,engine or transmission mounts, or mud under the engine or a 4th possibility would be tires (seperated or out of balance ) good luck

Has the car even been in an accident? If so it could be a bent frame (worse case), Otherwise the car could be off balance and needing an alignment (Most likely - best case) :)

1993 F250 Cruise control does not work how to troubleshoot

The cruise control system is controlled by engine vacuum, like many other engine components. A split in one vacuum line can cause an array of devices to stop functioning properly. A visual inspection is usually the best way to start, but vacuum gauge is the best way to determine if all the lines are receiving proper vacuum. They branch out from the vacuum tree, adjacent to the throttle body. The tree feeds various vacuum controlled devices, boosters, and solenoids. Older vacuum style cruise control systems have a large control actuator which can be tucked away between the engine block and the inner wheel well. Here is an illustration which may help.

Why does my car start most of the time, but not all the time?

Are you sure it has spark, next time no start condition happens try spraying some starter fluid in throttle body and see if it starts.
I say this because if your fuel pump is weak and failing the jiggling of the car when you move it could cause a weak pump to work.

Change complete body on 93 geo tracker

how to change,? how to remove it and then? what?
its not like a light bulb....
the cars whole body, needs replacement. the whole thing.
this car has real frame, so you must detach all harness ends
from all drivline parts. including in the engine bay.
then all shift linkage.(on a 5speed it be the shifter too) after console removal (center)
then all those body to frame, bolts.
take sharp left turn and body and you falls of car. (jokinig)

now lifting it, you will need, like 8 people to do that by hand
or a gantry crane
or a huge tree and chain hoist.
lifting the body, invites damage to the body, or to the newone going back on. It can be done with many jacks and huge boards to protect t
the body, and jack up the body in stages, and then slide the rolling
chassis from under the body.
my guess? is you have a car with good body bad driveline
then one more bad body with good driveline, right, is that the store?

Sounds like you are getting too miuch fuel and not enough air. Try replacing your spark plugs and wires, then cleaning your throttle body. Replace the air filter too if its been awhile. This will probably fix the problem.

What is causing my 93 mark 8 to stall at idle

I had a problem with both the speedometer and odometer in a Lincoln. It may also have an effect on the engine operation. My speedometer showed 45mph standing still and miles were rolling up on the odometer.

For me, it was a bad Alternator. The alternator was shorting out through the case. You should have your alternator checked and if you find out it is good, then the problem is something that is charging the car body.

You are getting a stray current that is messing up your dash and engine controls. You may have a power wire which rubbed through its insulation.
