1995 Toyota Celica Front Wheel Hub

Hello. My mechanic has told me that my front driver side wheel hub needs to be replaced. It was making noise and so the bearing will also need replacement. In searching for this part in the Internet, I can only find the rear wheel hub. Is the rear interchangeable with the front?

He already replaced the bearing once about 1 month ago. I brought it back because of the noise and he said that the wheel hub and the bearing need now to be replaced.

The same thing happened to my 95 Celica, the first mechanic or suspension shop replaced the front wheel bearings and about a month later the noise was back. I took it to another shop and they said that the bearing were bad because the base of the spindle assemble, where the bearing sits, was wallowed out. They replaced it and the bearings and all is good. I would have them check the spindle assembly.

My Dodge Grand Caravan is making a humming noise as you accelerate, while turning left it stops but gets worse while turning right. I replaced the left front wheel hub and no improvement, I need help

if hub bearing replacement did not fix the noise

when noises are on left and right turns
that has CV joints /drive shafts
would say they are the issue
replace both sides

and replace the left hand hub bearing at the same time

Have you not looked over the brakes & even taken
things apart, looking for & eliminating brakes as an issue?
Checked drive axles,joints,etc.
Tires won't make a noise & brakes are not near the wheel,
to touch anything
New wheel hubs are ruined by mechanics obsessed with those
air driven impact guns, you need to use a torque wrench on the
axle nut of a new bearing

Had R/F wheel hub/bearings replaced due to the loud noise it was making. The mechanic said bearing were shot however could still hear a small noise towards left front. He put new hub/bearing on left front...

u joints dont make a whine type noise. could it be tires? rotate tires and see if noise changes. did he hear the noise with the truck in the air? could be the front diff. with a 2006 explorer I would not have put the old bearing back in, its going to need it anyhow, sooner or later.

Drivers side front hub makes a low grinding noise after four wheel drive is disengaged, what can we do?

If the grinding noice lasts for just a few seconds, don't worry about it. If it grinds along time or constantly, the hub is not disengaging fully then you need to take it to a mechanic for sure. Good Luck.

Hope your mechanic is right cos that is a costly job. Try calling around your local parts dealers, aka Autozone, Advance, Oreilly for prices on parts.

Road noise / front end vibration

The noise you're hearing is consistent with a bad wheel bearing. It's true, the only way to actually tell is to pull the hub/bearing. I'd try to isolate what side of the car the noise is coming from and pull that wheel. If it's not a wheel bearing, it could be transmission related but these things are usually solved by replacing the wheel bearing.

Driver side wheel makes noise, it gets more rapid as I go faster

There are a few reasons why a wheel will make noise when it's rotating. The most serious would be a bad wheel bearing. I would have the front wheel bearings checked, and if the driver's side needs replacement, I recommend that you have the passenger side replaced as well.
Other less serious causes for a noise at the wheel can be a small stone stuck inside a hub cap or a stone lodged in the tire tread.
