Question about Ford Escape

1 Answer

Not sure if this is the problem...but I narrowed it down to the headlight switch...maybe. Headlights low/high will not come on and also the taillights. Bulbs are not burnt out and the fuses are all good. By passed with a tester direct and all of the lights work. Does it sound like the switch to you?

Headlights wont work on dim, only bright

Check your head light bulbs, your truck has the dual filiment headlight bulbs one per side which does both high beam and low beam, 9007 bulbs.
If the low beam filiments are burned out only the high beam will work.
Also look into finding out if the headlight switch is gone bad.
The headlight module and or drl module maybe defective.

Headlight switch turns on parking lights but not headlights. Have to hold high beam switch on to have headlights at night.

Replace light switch assembly. Remenber some switches pull up to flash headlights and press down to change from low to high--press down again goes from high to low.

I need to know what color wire the headlights use, on a hyundai sonata. It needs repairing, and I cant afford to go get it done....any advice(concerning the headlights/the wiring of the headlights) would...

Well to start with, what are we trying to fix? What is wrong with the headlights. Do they not work at all? Do the Low Beams not work? Do the High Beams not work? Is the vehicle equipped with daytime running lamps (DRL)? There are a LOT of parts and a LOT of wires that are involved in your headlamps. If I knew what we were trying to fix, at least I could narrow it down by about fourty acres!

Turn high beams on all headlights go out is dimmer switch bad?

Maybe , but maybe the high beams are burnt out.
The switch switches between high and low beams , they won't both be on at the same time.

Headlights go out when high beam switch is activated

Could be a blown fuse or maybe both globes are burnt out.

Note: Low beam lights are turned off when high beam is selected.

1998 dodge dakota v8 magnum headlight problem

headlight switch is overheating ... replace it be sure to check the plug on the harness making sure it did not melt. the design is poor too many wires going thru one switch. It will go bad again and again especially if you do alot of night driving or use your high beams alot.and by no means use any other headlights other then factory issue.

Headlights and highbeams switches

After reading your post, I am pretty sure the headlight switch is at fault. What happens when you turn the headlight switch to on and then actuate the high beam switch? If both low and high elements light up, I think that would be the headlight switch itself as the culprit. I don't have access to the wiring diagram you need, as that would answer your question end the guesswork on my part.
